More very nice w/ps, PLJ! I, too, like the one of the Tusken Raiders--although I also like the one of the Jawas!--both of these are often-neglected in fan art (raises hand...), and it's very nice to see some emphasis given to them! Lovely compositions in both of them--nice eye-movement through the pieces--and once again, a great selection of images to illustrate both species in their environs. Lovely work!

D'oh there were replies in here that I wasn't aware of!

Hee hee - I'm shaking in fear :p Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

Thank you for viewing my work. I love Padme also (as you might guess from my handle - I'm a big fan of her and her children and granddaughter ;) ) I love creating Padme wallpapers, GL and Trisha Biggar gave us so many deliciously stunning gowns to drool over that perfectly fit her regal character that she's just a delight to use as a subject!

The Memories of Alderaan Cover came from a lovely piece of concept art that I found while hunting online for pictures of Alderaan. I couldn't believe my good fortune when I found that picture - it was just perfect for my story!

Sorry for the long delay, I hope to be working on more wallpapers soon!

    FalconFan

I love the Jawas and Tusken Raiders - they're both so iconic characters from the SW universe. I guess I also just get sick of guys blathering endlessly on over clones that I figured it would be fun to highlight some of the other best known scum and villany of the GFFA!

Thank you for your comments, I really loved those 2 wallpapers.

I forgot to up this thread when I created my latest wallpaper challenge piece here for early June.

Very nice w/p of the Skywalker Women, PLJ! =D= I love that you've kept to "real" faces for them all (Shiri Appleby (sp?) for Jaina seems to fit quite well!), and remembering to include Shmi is a great touch (she was the one who began the "line," so to speak!). Well done!

Thank you! I liked seeing the different actress faces in that one also - helped to create unity in the piece.

I love Shmi, it saddens me that she's often forgotten and as you mentioned, she's the one who started it all!

Here's my latest creation for this last weeks Wallpaper competition:

Hey PLJ! Great Han Solo wallpaper! =D= I really like both those images you used, though I don't think I've seen the one of him with the shorter hair and "three-days'-growth" before! ;) It's obviously some proart--from a foreign book cover...? Very nice! The way you've "echoed" the guns is great, too--I really like the emphasis it puts on his favorite weapon! The sort of flame motif you put behind him is also appropriate (IMHO, anyway!)--it seems like he's generally "just short of the flashpoint!" A very nice piece!

Hi FF! Sorry it took me so long to answer you, I took some time off w/ wallpapers. The pictures I used for my Han wallpaper were from a couple of the Japanese book covers. I really enjoyed making this one and like how it came out :)

Here's a new wallpaper that I created for the newly resurrected Wallpaper challenge, theme Tatooine:

Oh, pretty!! And poignant--I just watched ROTS again the other night (blubbered like a baby through the entire last third, like always, lol! ;) ), and this is such a beautiful interpretation! The quote is perfect: the good in him was certainly passed on to his extraordinary offspring, Luke and Leia... It's just a beautiful image, and the colors are so rich--well, well done! =D=

Thank you FF :) I just love that ending shot in ROTS it not only echoes Luke's binary sunset scene, but it's gloriously GORGEOUS and full of hope.

I've been having fun trying different effects in my wallpapers to achieve different levels of opacity and blending of images.

Here's my latest entry for the wallpaper challenge w/ the theme of "Love in the Star Wars Saga."

Oh, this is sooo pretty PLJ! You really have a gift for choosing quotes that add so much to the emotion of your work--this piece is no exception! I swear I'm looking at a softened Hubble telescope image behind the characters here...am I hallucinating...? It really looks like part of the enhanced photo of the "star nursery" in the constellation Orion that was taken from the Hubble a number of years ago (I lurve that image!!)... This once again is such a poignant image, evoking the tragedy of their love...sniffle... Beautiful colors, lovely composition...very, very pretty! =D=

You have good eyes :) I have a collection of stellar photos that I often pull from to use as backgrounds in my wallpapers. I like mixing things up so that they don't always look the same.

I just love that photo also, it's like a sunset blazing to life in the stars.

I found the poem websurfing last night. I thought that movie quotes might feel somewhat tired and when I read that William Blake poem I was blown away by how appropriate it was for Ani and Padme.

Glad you liked my wallpaper :)

    Hi all!

Well I've recently been inspired to do some wps from other favorite Sci-Fi franchises. Word of warning, I'm on a HUGE Smallville kick, so you might be seeing a lot of Clark Kent in weeks to come =P~

Here are my 2 newest wallpapers.

Love this latest series of wallpapers, PLJ!! I'm a big Smallville fan myself, so I really like those: the one that has three different views and sizes of his face, all with a sort of "aura," is wonderful! =P~ The Battlestar Galactica one is a superb character illustration sheet: I almost feel as though I know this woman, and can empathize with what is obviously a painful situation for her, both physically and emotionally (the shot of her touching the family photo... :( ). Very nice succesion of images, and excellent composition there, too. They're all wonderful--you really have a talent for this, you know? :)

AcademyGrad - Hi there! Nice to see you again! I really like that Han wallpaper also. I took an online photoshop class and used some of the skills I learned in it for making the background on it :)

FalconFan - Well you have to ask, what's NOT to love about Smallville and Tom Welling =P~ Gotta love the WB shows for always finding mysterious ways for the hot men on the shows to always be shirtless =P~ or even in Tom's case sans apparel at all =P~

I'm all sad though, I'm just about done w/ season 3 and have to wait for seasons 4&5 to arrive via media mail :_|:_| I'm such a baby - crying because I have to wait a week or so when you have to go all summer between seasons.

I'm just starting on Smallville wallpapers, I've got a whole arsenal of photos that I've been downloading that I want to use. I really like both of the ones that I did here, so many that I see online are only Tom Welling-centric, I tend to like having my WPs be from the actual shows that I watch, not just the actors on them.

I guess you don't watch BSG? Kara aka Starbuck is a GREAT character. Guys tend to not like her a lot (or even less as the series progresses) because she can be cold but she's very complex. Starbuck's been to hell and back and unlike in many fairytales the show doesn't gloss over the pain she's gone through - it's messy, she's a mess, it's wonderfully REAL. I highly recommend renting the BSG Mini-series, as a STAR WARS fan you'll love the show, it's the best drama on tv :)

ShrunkenJedi - Yes, I know, tell me about it. I haven't had this sort of reaction to anyone since seeing Hayden for the first time in AOTC [face_love] It's not even just that Tom's smokin' hot, but he's a wonderful, modern Clark Kent. He's not so over the top geeky like he's portrayed in the movies, but he's just very insecure about women/girls and the way he fumbles around w/ his emotions when he's around them that is refreshingly delightful and real. He's got that let me clam up and frustrate the hell out of females thing down pat. I still haven't watched the seasons where he meets Lois (although I've seen some from this season) but from the fan clips I've watched, I've put together that he definitely has better chemistry w/ her than Blahna.

Anywhoo - here's another Clark baby wallpaper to give you all a mid-day treat :D I've been fanning myself for days after finding this photo of him, it's one of those rare cases where it just ruin the wp if I tried putting any other photos with it =P~

    Hi everyone!

Sorry, no new SW wallpapers, although I might try a new Ani wallpaper soon using some of the new techniques that I used on one of my Clark wps.

Here are a bunch of new Smallville wallpapers that I've created. I'm almost all of the way through season 5 and am a total Clois shipper.

Don't ask me how or why, but my wp skills have suddenly skyrocketed in the last couple of days. The Hydro spoiler WP and SMALLVILLE-EXILE go far beyond how I normally make wallpapers. I'm very excited w/ how they turned out :)

These look great PLJ! =D= And when an artist continues to learn about technique and practices diligently, the results are usually amazing! ;)

I especially like the "nerd with glasses" one, and of course, "Exile" is very, very cool: love the aura effect around the foreground image! Clark's face looks a bit "dirty" in the one with the comic-book-type-filter--I think if you chose photos without so much shadowing on his face, it might alleviate that...but I'm an idiot when it comes to digital, so you might want to disregard that! lol! ;) I really like all of these (and in the one with two color versions, the blue seems to "punch it" more--and blue is my fav color, so of course I like that one! :p )! Can't wait to see the new Anakin piece!

Hi FF! Thanks for the wonderful feedback, as always :)

I always have issues w/ that damned poster-art option, it's very hard to get it to work w/o having those black blobs appear on the subject's faces. I think I've just got to be patient and do a lot of editing to clean that up the next time around that I use it.

Exile is one of my favorite WPS so far, I've been experimenting on and off w/ the knockout feature in Photoshop - the orange outline and text for that image were used creating the knockout function. What does that mean? Basically you create a background that you bury under all of your layers, then you can clear out everything standing between that layer and a top one to reveal the stuff on that bottom layer.

It's a LOT of fun to use! I spent a ton of time this Saturday working on my latest wp "EXPOSED" where I used the knockout feature to create the Lois and Clark silhoettes. I'm particularly proud of that one - I was going for a "James Bond"/60's pop-art feel to it since that's what that particular episode reminds me a lot of. I'm also in a heavy "let's use as much red/white/blue theme for my SV wps along w/ Clark wearing suits =P~

Here are my latest SV wallpapers. The first one, Clark in Peril is my least favorite, I did a lot of experimenting w/ textures and playing around w/ different layers but I think it came out a little muddy in appearance - but I do like the composition, so I'm including it as a learning wp.

The Clark in suit's image is me going bonkers for my favorite TW photoshoot. I expect I'll be doing a ton of wps w/ him wearing that gorgeous suit =P~

The 2 Lois and Clark collages were just my way of getting a bunch of my favorite L&C moments together and playing w/ photo composition and storytelling using photos.

Someday, I promise, I will get back to doing SW ones...I can't help it though, I'm currently obsessed w/ Clark Kent :p

    Hi everyone!

I know, it's been ages and there's a reason for it, I'm distancing myself from STAR WARS and am obsessing, still, over SMALLVILLE. I can't help it give me a 6'4" dark haired man w/ blue eyes any day to make me weak at the knees.

I'm going to try to do a few SW wallpapers, mostly because over the past month I've moved into a whole new realm of maniping/Photoshop abilities that are somewhat leaving me even me speechless over the results. As you might know I've been trying to perfectly achieve comic book looking art - poster edges filter always doesn't quite do it for me. I've found a new way of doing it and LOVE the results! Not all of these use it but wanted to throw in some other nice ones also.

I wanted to share some of my most recent and favorite wallpapers/Manips that I've created for Smallville. Someday soon, I promise I'll bring back some SW art too :)

Please, ask me about my techniques, I'm happy to share with you all!

Click on my link in my siggy to take you to my SV website to view all of my stuff that's on the "More Wallpapers" page.

    Thanks for looking!

    PLJ

Yikes! I somehow managed to miss a whole lot of additions here (but mostly one theme! ;) )! I can see what you mean when you say "obsession!" That's a lot of Clark and Lois! These are all great, but I find myself leaning more toward the "less busy" ones, with one or two foreground images and perhaps one b/g, with text (or no). I'm a real "less-is-more" kind of w/p fan, and those are the ones I like the best! "Snuggle," I think, is my favorite--just because it's very simple, and it seems like a kind of candid moment where neither of them is thinking of anything else... :) All wonderful (and can't wait until the SW bug bites again!)!

Many thanks! If you love SV as much as I do, please stop by my SV fansite (link in my siggy) I've got GOBS of new artwork there to peruse!

    FF

Less is more, eh? I just can't go for simplicity when it comes to wallpapers. Usually if I'm actually staring at my wallpapers it's because I'm waiting impatiently for my computer to reboot. I figure I'd rather have my eyes feasting on lots of stuff :p

When did I last post these? A month ago? God I love coming back to this place. I look at the stuff I posted in December and am amazed at how much my Photoshopping skills have improved.

Good lord things have seriously changed w/ my artwork. Ever since I first saw AcademyGrad use poster edges in Photoshop I've been trying to create my own comic book style for images using Photoshop. After hounding a friend over on Kryptonsite for one of his methods for cleaning up photos I've got it!

Sometimes they come out looking more like watercolors-but it all depends on photo quality.

So here are a couple of my favorite recent SMALLVILLE wallpapers AND a brand new Anakin/Padme piece!

I have gobs more new SV stuff but won't keep assaulting you all with it :p

Word of warning - all of the grass on this might fry your eyeballs FF if you come in here :p
