My apologies. It was just such an outlandish theory (particularly the idea of Maz being Snoke's apprentice) that my fingers typed that response of their own accord. But I will take responsibility for my fingers and say that I regret making the comment.

 

It's okay, I'm sorry if I baited you. It wasn't just you, I was frustrated at the number of shoot downs. I understand why it may seem weird, I've just come to think that she's strongly connected to the Force history.

Why can't people understand that not every being who has a strong connection to the Force is a Jedi, Sith or even a warrior? Was Bendu a Jedi or a Sith? No he was just a being with an extraordinary connection to the Force who lived a simple life...you have to understand that in many ways Maz serves a similar purpose.

 

I, for one, miss the simplicity of Light Sider user = Jedi and Dark Side user = Sith. Just my personal preference, of course...

I would be surprised if we didnt see another "cry baby rage" moment from Kylo Ren. Will it be a computer panel? will it be a interrogation chair? Naw, been done. My money is on passing droid.

Yes, if the men were more disposable than the equipment

But no, I don't think they'll focus much more on that element of the character. His arc is a VERY steep one, and we only have 4.5 hours of screen time left to cover a lot more characters than the OT, so I expect him to evolve pretty rapidly. *How* rapidly depends on where they intend for him to end up.

 

Funny you mention that. In the navy, we were told point blank that maintaining the ship's integrity took precedence over our actual lives.

You believe he will be redeemed, yes? For that to happen I agree that he will need to make some significant changes and soon.

Of the few things I felt TFA veritably clubbed me over the head with, Kylo getting a redemption arc screamed at me the loudest. I have many many times expressed my intense dissatisfaction with certain elements of how they set up the character, despite the (imo obvious) endgame, but I try to call it like I see it.

The 30-year time jump was necessary, I understand. But I feel there were significant downsides. We got 3 whole movies devoted to the fall of Anakin Skywalker. With Kylo...we'll get a few flashbacks.

I wish there were someone I could blame.

*Looks around for a spare lightsaber and expensive equipment to indiscriminately destroy. Or an Imperial stuffed shirt. Either would do.*

 

But after three whole films revolving around the fall of Anakin, why would anyone want three whole films revolving around the fall of Anakin's grandson? Starting with an already fallen Kylo, that still isn't as fallen as Vader in the OT, is a refreshing middle ground between the OT and the PT. In my view, of course.
