    He is overall, a good man in PT before his downfall, just with a few flaws.

    Slowpokeking, a little friendly advice from someone who has been in the midst of this same argument at least 8736952 times over the past 12 years:

    Don't go there. The result will be a circular debate of semantics as to what defines a "good man", what defines "flaws", which deeds count as "evil", and whether Anakin was still Anakin when he took on the name Darth Vader.

    And you won't change anyone's mind. And you don't need to. It's OK. Ultimately this comes down to taste in fictional characters, not an overall judgment of the state of humanity or even a judgment of individual posters, and Anakin's character rubbed some people the wrong way.

    And that, Dave Filoni, is "just how TCW is sometimes." Or just how Star Wars is sometimes.

    Thx. Actually I think I know where the problem is.

    Obi Wan is a typical old Jedi, so he likes to deal with absolutes sometimes, he failed to see the darkness in Anakin, just like he failed to see the good in Vader, that's why he view Anakin and Vader as different individuals. However the fact proved he's wrong, Anakin's inner darkness lead him to his downfall, and because he once was a good man, he still had good in him, his good was awakened in the end. PT explained to us in details, he went to the Dark Side mainly because he was too afraid to lose his loved ones. There is no character just called Vader, only Anakin Skywalker, who once turned to a Sith and was given that title, but redeemed himself in the end.

    Really the only reason why I like TCW Anakin better is because we get to see the great warrior and hero that we were told about in the OT in action.
