Darth Maul versus Qui-Gon is my favorite, but I think Anakin versus Count Dooku (the ROTS rematch) had some of the best choreography.

 

my only wish for the Anakin/Obi-won fight was that they would have stayed with it a little longer. When they came back from Yoda it wasn't quite as intense for me by the smallest of margins.

 

My favorite is Anakin vs. Obi-Wan. Brains & patience own raw strength.

However, I'm also rather fond of Obi-Wan vs. Grievous. This goes the way any duel between a Jedi who's been training all his life fighting someone who's been wielding a sabre 3 years and doesn't even have the Force should go: Gross overmatch. Grievous got his ass handed to him in the sabre duel, and Obi-Wan outfought him through better situational awareness in the end fight.

Mace vs. Palpatine was my favorite. Awesomeness on both sides. So fluid in parts. Watching Palpatine in that scene go from sweet chancellor to the Emperor I know and LOVE was amazing to see. You could even see him getting crazier as he was fighting in the duel.

This was more than a duel, this was an all out battle for the fate of the galaxy, no holding back here, they knew that, and it showed. From fastest blade lightsaber battle, to duck and cover senate pod fun, to Lightning stand-off, this was MASTER of Light vs. MASTER of Dark, and it was amazing.
and the one you thought that could be improved?ooh, a toughy here. I liked them all in one respect or another, but if I had to go for improvement, I would have allowed GG to keep his last two sabers and instead of the little fist fight, kept the duel going after the wheel bike chase. Not that I don't like the fist fight, but since you asked me.

I would probably say... Anakin Vs Obi-Wan Kenobi. That was just a well thought out duel with excellent background, music, drama and emotion. It had everything and more which is why I'll say it's one of the best duels in the saga.

 

As much as I loved the Obi-Wan/Vader one, lately I've been enjoying the Yoda/Sidious one more. That zoomed out shot of the Chancellor's pod ascending the Senate chamber is amazing.

My order changes from time to time. Its hard to organize the duels in numerical order. I think they're all great. However, Obi-Wan Vs. Anakin is number one and will remain so for an extremely long time.

 

Palpatine vs. Windu, Kolar, Tinn, and Fisto is my favorite. I like the way that he kills three of the finest Jedi Masters in less than ten seconds, and then eventually blasts Windu into oblivion at the conclusion of the confrontation. I think Anakin vs. Obi-Wan has the best choreography and the fastest fighting.

 

I cannot understand why everyone is listing their top 10 duels of the saga when the question is clearly about ROTS duels in a ROTS Forum ???

Only because of the ease in which Obi-Wan dismantled Grevious' sabres. It isn't believable when you refer to The General in The Clone Wars.

I agree i liked the Mace/Palpatine duel..then the Yoda/Sidious...Obi Wan and Anakin...Obi Wan and General Grievous.
The Agen, Saesee, Kit fight could have been better. At least give em a chance to swipe! (exclude Kit)

 

I thought the Anakin/Obi-Wan vs. Count Dooku was the best, Dooku just looks so awesome dueling, then when they go all fast. I thought it was pretty sweet!!

The one that will be remembered, the one that will be considered
the definitive Star Wars prequel lightsaber duel will be the Darth Maul battle!

 

Favorite overall: Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon vs. Maul.
Favorite in ROTS: Obi-Wan vs. Anakin


Worst fight overall: Mace Windu and his group vs. Sidious. It was horrible to watch three Jedi masters die without hardly putting up a fight.

 

Without a shadow of a doubt my favourite ROTS Lightsaber duel is Obi Wan Kenobi vs Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

 

Yoda vs. the two stormtroopers that try to kill him after the execution of order 66.

 

At this point, I'd actually have to say that the Obi-Wan/Grievous duel is my favorite in ROTS. There was little substance behind it, but it was fun to watch. Definitely cheesy, but in a good way this time.

The best duel should have been Obi-Wan vs. Vaderkin, but it was too much of a letdown. The first half was promising even with too many ultra-close ups and more intercutting than necessary (I thought the latter also hampered the ROTJ duel). And it's a crime that CGI overshadowed the second half completely. The TPM duel proved that it was possible to have a CG background without bludgeoning you over the head with it. But instead of letting the actors do what they'd practiced months for, we're "treated" to lava surfing. The scenes immediately preceding and following the duel were much, much better.
