I Am Will Smith

That is the only film in that whole list that people should have even bothered seeing, let alone listing as their favorite.

I don't mind changes, so long as they are well thought out and add something to the overall artistry. For instance, I am a huge fan of both the original Planet of the Apes film, and even more enthusiastically of the reboot series, but both of those diverge widely from the novel on which they were based.

I don't understand the grammar of that sentence. I don't even know what Turner & Hooch is. I have no idea why there are a bunch of crazy animal movies bunched in with a Will Smith classic.

 

I have seen none of those. So I pick Will Smith cuz Will Smith can do no wrong.

I use to watch All Dogs go to Heaven all the time as kid. There parts of that movie that are really dark.

Well thought out, like how the book I am Legend was trying to show Robert Neville as the true monster and largely portrayed vampires sympathetically which the movie completely ignored and pretty much changed the entire point of the story?

 

Well thought out doesn't mean "same as the original." It means well thought out. It would have been stupid to take any point away from the story. Instead, this version was an extended meditation on loneliness. It was a powerful reassertion of the long-held mantra "no man is an island" amidst an incipient tide of libertarianism. In that way, the message of film is especially powerful and relevant in the age of Donald Trump.
