(I really haven't seen anything with her, but let's just say I know some people who have told me people look like her, and I was like "Who is that?" and they were like "She is a big porn star" so I took it to mean the person they thought looked like her was a harlot. On bearshare it shows searchs others have done, and I noticed that some girl named 'jenna jameson' comes up quite often)

Being a married sexually liberated person...I have no problems with porn. Legal porn that is. Normal porn too...there are types of porn that disgust me...I do not watch them.

Now, yes, I have viewed porn...sometimes hubby and I will rent a movie, put the kids to bed and well...."watch". (I do have to say, that Ron Jeremy is the GROSSEST person in porn, somehowm he finds his way into most good porn movies)

The industry has changes a lot in the past 20 years...the woman are not forced into it..they want to be in it. Sex is meant to be enjoyed, and porn has been around for centuries...obviously, it has it's place in society.......

It's unhealthy, it gives the man unhealthy thoughts about women, it will help him to start viewing women as sex objecs, it's just wrong.

Well I see I've come into this discussion somewhat late. I read through most of it and you all have valid points.

My .02$:

I'm 15. I'm atheist. I've seen porn. A lot, if not all of my male friends have megs and megs of the crap on their computer. I personally don't find anything arousing about it. The human body is a beautiful thing(especially female ) and I love nudity. But seeing two people going at it just doesn't do it for me. This is what I call "Active Porn". When you see two people engaging in what's supposed to be the greatest way to show love.

Then there's what I call "Passive Porn". Pictures are the main example of this. Simply showing off the female(or male) body in the flesh. If I had a choice I'd rather see this than the former. But still, it doesn't do anything for me. I won't go out of my way to look at either of these two. I'd much rather see a scantily clad or heck even fully clothed beautiful, attractive woman than a naked one any day.

While I don't like porn personally, I don't condemn it. It's not up to me to judge if it's right or wrong. Very simply if you don't like it don't look at it. There's a whole buisness world out there that revolves around the porn industry, and a very succesful one at that. More power to them. They take something easy that they obviously enjoy doing and make a living out of it.

Does it objectify women/men? Not really, at least not in my opinion. Perhaps I'm just sick of the question. Most people (especially feminists) use the arguement "it objectifies women" well hell, then it objectifies men too. But if that's the case what about MTV? They have almost completely naked women prancing around. No one is holding a gun to these women's heads(unless it's snuff...but that's just sickening). If anyone is objectifying porn stars it's themselves, and not porn as a whole.

Well, I'm sorry if you read this because it was probably just a big ole waste of time. But it's my opinion, and I'm probably wrong.

I shall just say this about pornography... I would rather sell a million pornographic magazines and a million pronographic videos to people who seek such items than have ONE woman OR man raped because some sicko couldn't get his fill of excitememt! (I'm not saying ALL people who like pornography are sickos it's just that psychologically speaking people who ARE sick WILL seek out such itms rather than abuse women)

The human form is a beautiful machine to behold... why should we be ashamed of looking at it? I'd like to ask the people here this... do you watch nature programmes? why is watching two animals mating NOT pornography?

 

I'm with you on this Dark Queen. It seems that only sex in the human species is considered Taboo. Of course we can turn on The Learning Channel and see two Rhinos boinking.

 

As long as everyone is a concenting adult, then more power too them. If I want to buy a stroke mag, then great. If I want to stand outside of a porno store and picket, great.

It's a personal choice, just like masturbation or eating cheese fries or whatever...so long as it in with consenting adults. And that is the bottom line. Consenting adults.

I don't necessarily approve of it, nor do I object to it particularly. I just don't need it like I did when I was much younger.

Exactly. And like I've said before, this sets false standards for young girls to try and live up to.

 

Speaking of which, on Friday I went to see this great documentary called "Pornstar: The Legend of Ron Jeremy".

It was a great insight into his life and it was funny as hell. Here is a nice Jewish boy who got a masters in Special Education and taught for 2 years, helping the retarded and the blind.

But he wanted to always be a serious actor. He even did some off Broadway plays and a lot of children plays. But he was getting nowhere so he was discovered after an ex girlfriend sent a picture of him to Playgirl magazine and the published it because of his rather large "gifts".

And he got into porn. He still dreams of being a serious actor, but he hardly gets work because of the way he looks. Although, it is funny the insane amount of normal mainstream films he has been in. He had a part in Ronin with Deniro and Reno, but got cut off because he is a porn star.

But the fact is that he likes being a porn star. He loves it.

Yes, he is fat, hairy all over and thus they call him the Hedgehog. But women most women in Porn like him because of his personality and who he is and the fact that every female porn star they interviews said he is a master in giving oral sex. That no one else in porn is as good as that as him.

But throughout that documentary, you saw that Ron was a real nice guy. Very funny, easy to talk to, makes fun of himself because he knows how he looks, has insecurities and can sometimes be lonely. Very cool person.

BTW, when he was younger, the dude used to be good looking actually. They showed clips and photoes when he was a teenager and when he was in college. After graduation from college, he suddenly started getting hairy and gaining weight. Although in his early porn films he was still pretty thin, although already very hairy.

Consenting adults watching consenting adults doing acts that come naturally to a lot of people. What's wrong with that?

Other forms of porn involving those unable to give consent, those who do not understand the actions they are involved in or those who are not enjoying said acts is a whole different ball game.

Actually, TFU, since you did not see the documentary, then be quiet.

Alot of dudes in porn are quite big. And Ron may be big, but he is not as big as a lot of the others. It is 9 inches and three quarters.

And a lot of the women in pron like what they do and are professional. And that is why in the documentary they said that the problem with other guys who have huge "gifts" and have hard and buffed bodies and perfect everything, end up being egotistical and a pain to work with.

Ron, he is laid back and likes to work with people.

How about you treat these people like human beings? Trust me when I tell you that a lot of people who work in porn like what they do.

while I myself, personally, wholeheartedly enjoy the good porno flick now and then, and at the movies I love slice and dice movies, and car chases, and explosions, and the heavy base of a jet fighter launching that probably sounds louder in the theater than it does in real life, and I find it hilarious when a guy tripping on LSD jumps off a roof into a pool, I know how incredibly damaging it is. I mean, we must be doing something wrong. In the last forty years, everything from suicide to homicide to rape to who-knows-what has gone up horrendously higher than it should be. Around that time was the first time people decided it was time for a change, because of the Cold War going on with Russia. Since everyone came so close to blowing themselves up in one stroke of a switch (figuratively speaking) we/they gave society a massive over, wether it was intentional or a serendipity of fate is unknown. So now here we are, a society literally falling apart, threatening to destroy ourselves from either global international war or domestic (civil) war. This war may be caused by racial or ethnic craze, or it could be deeper. It could be that every time extra vulgar material hits the public people get worse and worse until finally the future adults of my younger generation become so hopelessly naive towards death and destruction that we just blow ourselves up, "knowing" we'll come back next week without a scratch. While it may be a stretch of the imagination, all it takes is a long time, slipping downwards one little notch at a time, and eventually we will hit a point that low. And if the only requisit for this event is time, then we are pretty much screwed, since we've got plenty of it. And if we don't have plenty of it, then we're screwed anyway. Seems like a lose-lose situation to me.

 

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's your choice rather to view it or not view it. As long as you can keep a balanced and realistic prospective that porn isn't real, then you have no abberations when watching it.
