So, TLJ was done in a way that Episode IX could be about anything.
Just for fun, what's the basic plot you want IX to follow? (Leave sub plots and details aside)

I Personally thought of this and posted it in a FB group. I'd very much like to read your suggestions. And maybe JJ is lurking as well :p

    So Episode IX:

    - Is set 5 years after the events of the first 2 films

    - The First Order has been Split into 2 rival organizations with Kylo being the Leader of one branch

    - There is a huge civil war going on between the 2 orders, which gives the resistance the chance to recover

    - Kylo Ren is off to a secret mission to discover something of immense power that's gonna allow him to rule the galaxy. The Resistance learns about this and Rey goes after Kylo

    - Meanwhile the other order (Kylo's rivals) is building another death star

    - The rebels have a good time fighting with order B (opportunity for badass battles and Poe-Finn bromance moments) but eventually get their asses kicked and the Resistance looks doomed

-Some more action between Rey and Kylo. They have a huge battle and Kylo is ready to kill Rey, but then the force ghost of mr. "See you around kid", accompanied with maybe Leia and Han convinces Kylo to work with the resistance in order for order B to not rule the galaxy.

-Huge final battle, Kylo seems good and redeemed but back stabs the good guys at the last moment

    - Final battle, Rey kills him cold blooded

    THE END

    3 years after TLJ.

Kylo is Supreme Leader, but his evil and ruthlessness is even worse than Vader. Kills people for enjoyment. He hears Snoke, Han, and Luke in his head but doesn’t know if it’s real or not. Is considered by most of the FO to be a mad tyrant.Half the Galaxy is under FO rule. More and more systems are joining the rebels because of Kylo and his arbitrary leadership, and even whole regimentsnof the FO have defected .

Hux secretly plots a mutiny, as he sees Kylo being the end of the FO.

Rey and Leia have secretly restarted the Jedi on Ach-To. With help from Ghost Luke, Yoda, and Obi-Wan they have started training students of all ages. Training is swift and open to all ages. The Jedi texts show the PT Jedi had way too many rules and precepts.

Poe is leader of the Resistance. He and Finn have some type of mission with the Resistance that will cripple the
    First Order for good.

    Kylos ultimate plan
Is to retake Coruscant as the seat of power for his new Empire, finally doing what his grandfather couldn’t. But he also discovers something Palpatine knew - the first Sith temple is buried deep under Coruscant. If he could take it and tap into its dark energy, his power in the Dark Side would grow exponentially. I’d end the movie with a
ROTJ style thing with a battle in space as the Resistance battles the FO while Kylo and his legions attempt to retake the planet and are met not only by the new Jedi Order, but boiestered by a mass influx of people and troopers willing to fight against the tyranny while starships from many systems join the fight above. A battle with nothing less than the control of the galaxy at stake .

Not sure if this thread will last or if it will merge with the "What Now?" thread but here it goes:

    * Opening crawl mentions that Leia is on a mission to distant worlds to recruit them for the rebel cause
    * Rey, Finn, Poe, and Rose on a mission to a planet to liberate it from the FO
    * Kylo arrives and duels Rey. He has IMMENSE powers now and nearly kills Rey to her surprise. She deflects something uncontrollably and out of anger and nearly kills one of her friends (Poe). She clearly is not in control of the Force yet and is acting on emotion. Kylo retreats when he hears a very important message. Chewie picks up the friends.
*It is learned that Leia's mission did not reach its destination. She has been killed (offscreen) but the impact is huge. The rebellion now feels hopeless as the distant worlds supposedly did not get the call for help and Poe is injured.
*Kylo is very angry as he did not authorize the attack on his mother's mission (he is actully infuriated that his mother was killed). He takes it out on several officers in a brutal way resulting in their deaths. He is now feared and becomes the Supreme Leader.
*Kylo takes his command on Yavin 4, the location of the former Jedi academy he destroyed.
*Poe comes around and forgives Rey. They seem to share a bond.
*On yavin 4, Kylo comes across an ancient powerful Blue Leaf Cluster which seems to house spirits of the dark side. He is contacted by what he believes is Snoke who congratulates him on his efforts of anger.
*Poe is now in charge of the dwindling rebellion. He desperately tries to contact other worlds but seems to fail. The rebels are eroding quickly as Kylo orders the entire FO to surround the rebels.
*Finn and Rose secretly journey to different worlds to find help. They come across families who lost their children to the stormtrooper program. Finn makes it his mission to turn as many stormtroopers against the FO citing that they, like him, were taken as babies from their families.
*Rey senses something strong. She senses other force sensitive children and fears that Kylo is on a secret mission to hunt them down.
*Kylo dispatches his Knights of Ren to find "forcies" and bring them to him on Yavin 4 so he can find his perfect new apprentice. He also recruits DJ to help him. DJ knows about the stable boy and leads Kylo's KOR to capture the children there.
*DJ, as a double agent, secretly disables the Canto Bight bank dealings thus shutting off the weapons transactions and financial flow to the FO.
*the children are delivered to Kylo on Yavin 4 but DJ is killed by Kylo due to his betrayal.
*Rey is visited by Luke's ghost as she searches for forcies. She makes a stop to Jakuu where she visits her AT-AT and finds the part of a necklace she takes. She also finds Blobface Plutt and threatens him for information bout her parents which he tells her were not her real parents but he has no idea who she really is.
*Kylo is visited by the ghost of Darth Vader but the ghost transforms into Anakin. Kylo says that Anakin was weak and that he was able to do what Vader could never do.
*Desperate due to the lack of help, Poe puts Connix in charge of the post and heads on with his Xwing to face the FO's mastership "Tyranny", having learned from Holdo about sacrifice. This is meant to be a kamikaze mission.
*Rey senses that the children are on Yavin 4 so she goes there. She is met first by spirits of the dark side of the Force and then the KOR. She takes out 2 or 3 of the KOR but there are too many. She is eventually met by Kylo.
*Chewie arrives to help the FO with some Wookie friends. A ground assault takes place but the FO still overwhelms the rebels.
*Rey and Kylo battle. During the duel, Rey somehow imprints a vision/flashback to Kylo of when he was a baby Ben Solo. Leia, Han, and Luke are all there and Kylo begins to shed a tear. He is then pulled back to darkness by the spirits of Snoke (or whoever) and goes ballistic against Rey.
*The dark side Snoke spirit begins to make the elements bring hell upon Rey like Yoda was able to do in TLJ. But Luke appears and faces the dark side spirit, vanquishing it back into the Blue Leaf Cluster using Force powers never seen before.
*the KOR appear on site but a Forcie (enslaved on Yavin 4 by Kylo) causes an avalanche that crushes the remaining KOR.
*Kylos powers are deflected controllably by Rey and Rey pushes Kylo back. She seems to be about to kill Kylo but remembers Luke and Kylo's past. She then tries to tell Kylo that he lied about her parents and that his own parents loved him very much and he still has a chance. He refuses to listen until he notices the necklace on Rey's neck that she got after revisiting Jakuu. He then goes back to the flashback/vision of when he was a baby and sees the same necklace on his mother's neck. He then realizes that Rey is his sister.
*Nearly decimated, the rebels are called back. But then, just as the entire rebellion seems lost, squadrons or ships from everywhere show up. Apparently, Leia's mission worked and before her death, the transmission was sent to the closest planet...Bespin. Lando Calrissian received it and forwarded it on to all star systems. The HUGE battle begins.
*On Yavin 4, Kylo hears the voice of his mother. He says he is so sorry and his mother says "I know". Kylo knows what he has to do. He tells Rey to take the children on his starship.
*Kylo, still hearing the voices of dark siders trapped in the Blue Leaf Cluster (look it up on Wookiepedia) takes his saber and destroys the BLC. Rey escapes with the children and Kylo destroys the cluster, himself, and the planet. The dark side is destroyed as is the command for the FO.
*Finn leads a batallion of turned stormtroopers against the Tyranny and kills Hux. The Tyranny is destroyed, taking out scores of FO ships with it.
*The First Order, having dispatched ALL of their ships this battle, are overwhelmed by the hundreds of star systems that have come to help thanks to Leia's transmission and Lando forwarding it. The rebels win!!!
*A memorial is held for Leia on the reclaimed capitol of Coruscant. A statue is constructed in her honor in the same place Palpatine's was many years ago. Lando is there, Maz is there. All the heroes are there.
*Chewie bids farewell to his friends and goes to his family on Kashyyk. He gives Rey Han's old vest from ANH in memory of her father.
*Poe becomes the Chancellor with R2 and 3PO by his side as well as BB8. Finn is made Admiral of the Republic army. Rose becomes the head of operations.
*In a tower high up above the city, Rey takes her seat as the head of the Jedi council. She is visited by both Luke and Leia's ghost who explain everything to her and how she was believed lost when she was a little baby. Leia knew when she saw her again that it was her daughter but Rey had to learn that on her own so that she would not give into emotion and hate and fall like her brother did.
*Among Rey's new students is the young stable boy from Canto Bight (who is now a teenager) who is given the title of Jedi Knight. The ghosts of Luke, Leia, Yoda, Obi-Wan look upon Rey. They are joined by Anakin and Ben Solo. As we see Rey smile out into the Coruscant skyline, she sees twin suns. The image fades as we hear Threepio's voice
*The last scene is a bunch of small children gathered around R2 and 3PO. One says "can we hear that story again?". 3PO says "very well then. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away".....fade into credits

Hmm. I'd brake it down like this. Make it a simple story of legends, rebellions, and destiny.

    Set 5-7 years after TLJ.
The Legend of Luke Skywalker and his fateful battle with Kylo Ren, has spread to every corner of the galaxy and has inspired people to rise up and join the rebels
Ghost Luke Skywalker shows up from time to time to those who have a connection to the Force and teaches them 3 lessons. If they pass, they're instructed to find Rey to become a New Jedi.
The Rebels now have a larger fleet, and Rey now has her own small group of Jedi trainees. The light side as risen to match the dark side.
Kylo Ren is a desperate mad ruler. Doesn't trust anyone. Has no friends. No family. No allies. He keeps himself secluded from pretty much everyone.

While the galaxy has heard of the Legend of Luke Skywalker, a secret cabal of stormtroopers have begun to pass around tales of the Legend of Finn, the trooper who rebelled.
The movie opens with the Rebels realizing this underground trooper movement could help. Finn is sent to infiltrate a huge FO base HQ on Coruscant, and try to start an insurrection.
The Rebels and the FO start a battle to end all battles. It takes place on many worlds, but our core team is focused on freeing Coruscant. During the battle just as the FO is thought to be winning, Finn and the troopers rise up.
The scene in some ways plays like a mirror to Order 66, where the clones attacked the Jedi. Whereas the Clones were following orders, the troopers finally break that life long programming. The troopers begin attacking their FO masters and the Order now begins to crumble.
Once the troopers rise up, word of it insurrection spreads to almost every FO controlled world, where we see a montage of the same happening.

As the Rebels and FO fight to take out the base HQ on Coruscant, Rey and her team of New Jedi fight their way to the old Jedi Temple and fight the Knights of Ren one by one. The other Jedi go off to help the others, and finally Rey meets Kylo at least, who is sitting in the ruined Jedi Temple council room. Kylo teases Rey about how she thinks she can rebuild all of this. Even Luke couldn't. Rey isn't tempted by his taunts. She feels bad for him. He tells her that this is his now. He will create a new order, train more disciples, and rule the galaxy as the powerful should. Rey sees just how delusional he is. He can't even keep his own first order in line. His troops are now gone. Just then Ghost Luke shows up and Kylo is enraged.

Elsewhere, the Rebels and freed troopers, attack the rest of the FO base (the officers and those troopers who didn't rise up) and finally over take the base. There's a small air battle around the old senate building and our group crashes and fights the FO on the roof of the massive complex. As they defeat the last of the FO group, Poe and his small band of Rebels climb to the very top and plant a new Republic flag onto the building. Smoke is billowing out all around them. Sun breaks through the clouds. The FO is no more.

Back in the council room, Luke tries to talk to his nephew one last time but to no avail. Kylo realizes that he cannot fight Luke, so he just attacks Rey. They two fight in the council room. And Rey manages to slash Kylo's arm. He takes off down the escalator. Luke knows where Kylo is going and tells Rey to follow him. He explains that underneath the complex is an old dark side shrine. The Jedi built the temple on top of it (just as the Jedi were built on a system of corruption of the Force, this needs to be fixed - so symbolically the last fight takes place where the jedi first became "corrupted")

Underneath the temple in the old dark side shrine, which is deeply connected to the dark side itself. The place feels haunted. Kylo and Rey fight one last time. Kylo can hear the voices of Vader in his head. In the end Rey tries one last time to get Kylo to return to the light...but Kylo chooses his destiny. During the fight, Kylo falls into the magma rivers surrounding the shrine and dies. There's no emperor to save him this time. The shrine is destroyed in the fight and the dark side connection is gone.

Rey returns to the surface and catches up with the other Jedi Knights and the Rebel group now celebrating. The dark side connection that she has lived with for 5 years feels gone finally.

Great ideas! @DarkGingerJedi What about Leia?

@King Maul please say you are NOT suggesting that Rey and Kylo end up together? Once word of that ever hits the spoiler circle, people will immediately be alienated.

Disney and LFL have a chance to spin TLJ's "divisiveness" into something satifying. There are common elements to all of our ideas. Perhaps JJ has some of the same thinking.

    • The Opening crawl implies General Leia Organa is on a secret mission to Naboo.
    • Poe Dameron is now a General, Finn a Captain, Kaydel Connix is a Commander and all are now the defacto leaders of the Resistance.
    • Kylo Ren is repeatedly challenged for his place as the First Order's #1 by General Armtiage Hux.
    • Rey returns to Ach-to to complete her training with Luke Skywalker (Chewbacca and the Falcon will be in tow)
    • We start in space with Poe Dameron communicating with Rey that when he finds the First Order base she will be contacted.
    • The major space battle will just not happen in one system but throughout the galaxy, on different fronts
    • Finn and Rose will destroy the First Order base.
    • Rey will confront Kylo Ren one final time, his fate will be unknown at the end of the film (this Battle will take place on Coruscant)
    • The film will end where the first one started, on Yavin IV, near the last remaining force tree, Poe Dameron and Rey will be seen holding hands at a miminum.

At the end Rey and Ben Solo disappear, presumably but not definitely together. That gives them the romantic ending they've been working for, a Skywalker successor for a future trilogy, and plausible deniability for the "abusive ship" crowd.

And the end of the franchise. Can't market a movie toward a demographic that isn't even interested in first place and completely alienating everybody else.

This thread had potential. Some great ideas. If this goes into the Reylo direction then it needs to be locked pronto.

    • A couple of years has passed
    • Emperor Kylo is sitting comfortably on Coruscant having ended the war
    • Ghost Luke training a small group of future Jedi. Yes.
    • Allies of the Resistance all coming together to form a army big enough to take back Coruscant and the galaxy
    • Massive Coruscant battle. Poe is leading the air attack. Finn, Rose and Rey leading the ground assault as they fight their way to Kylo's palace
    • Rey vs Kylo round 2
    • Kylo dies seeing the Empire that he so badly wanted to rule crumble.
    • Prologue, maybe a couple of years later. New Jedi Academy. Poe is Chancellor. Finn is basically running the new Republic army. Etc.

Thanks. While I think that TLJ was a mess, I agree that we can still have a clean, fulfilling ending in EP 9. They just need to answer a few of the mysteries that they've set up, and have so far refused to answer and they need to show the consequences of what's happened so far.

For Kylo, maybe the movie opens with him morning his mother. Maybe that's why he's secluded away from everyone. He finally achieved 'killing his past' and now we see what happens to that kind of individual. Kylo ends up being very alone. Which is a great mirror of Anakin, who set out on the dark side path to save his family. Kylo wants to destroy it. It's very Godfather actually. Don Corleone built his family from nothing and became this "bad guy" whom everyone feared, respected, or was devoted to (just like Vader in a way), whereas his son Michael, in a changing world, ended up destroying his entire family in order to protect what he thought was his, and in the end lost the respect and love of everyone around him - those in the FO, the troops, and even the heroes.

I think that there's some big opportunity with Finn's original story, and giving him the chance to free the other troopers (who are essentially his family) and have his own legend. Not only would it be a mirror of the Clones following their orders, but it would be a fulfillment in a way of Anakin's old dream that he thought he'd free people in the galaxy - i.e.; those who are bound to the dark side, which is something he himself finally learned to do. His achievement becomes a doorway for others to do the same.

I also think that the story needs to fix what went wrong in the PT age, with regards to the 2 fallen orders - the Republic and the Jedi. I think it would be great to go back Coruscant and reclaim the two 'temples' - one to the Force and one to democracy. While the Rebels literally capture the Senate building, maybe Rey finally extinguishes the ancient dark side shrine at the heart of the Jedi Temple so that they can grow to a more perfect Order once again.

And finally, EP 9 needs to be not a rehash of ROTJ. Right now TLJ almost sets up a repeat of the Empire vs Rebels storyline. EP 9 needs to completely write the book, and let the victory accomplish fixing their failures of the past. I would love for it to show what 50 years of war has done to the galaxy, to Coruscant - because we haven't ever really seen the consequences of this war.

There's a consensus Hopefully JJ feels that way too:

    1. Dark side planet or location of some sort with dark side spirits.
    2. Finn recruits stormtroopers to the rebels side since he's been there done that too.
    3. Poe becomes Chancellor of the Republic and Rey is the new Jedi master. Finn is some sort of general or admiral or something.
    4. Kylo sacrifices himself. Clearly not going to be a romance.
    5. Some tribute to the OT3. Flashback or whatever.
    6. Leia dies heroically in a cause that ends up helping achieve peace. That has always been her mission and the fruits of her labor need to be fulfilled.
    7. Luke returns as a Force ghost. He is more powerful than before as shown by Yoda that ghosts can still have strength.
    8. Knighs of Ren are prominently featured. As if Anakin in some manner.
    9. Rey has more of a story surrounding her family. Even if she is truly random, have her learn more about them.
    10. The First Order is defeated by the stormtroopers that Finn recruits as well as by many many worlds.

One thing I think definitely think we should see and would be an evolution of what came before is Kylo being hot garbage as Supreme Leader, and how this affects the FO and Hux specifically. Kylo so conflicted and mad that he really doesn’t know what he’s doing. The FO has overtaken a bunch of systems since Starkiller, but now you have to actually do something with them. I can see him ignoring the actual governance needed with this fledgling ‘New Empire’, leading to dissent and outright rebellion. And Hux realizing that Kylo is doing more harm than good as Leader, and seeing all the FO has worked for being slowly undone.

On some level I think Kylo knows he still needs him to keep the war machine running, at least for the moment. But I can see Kylo issuing military orders that Hux doesn’t agree with in IX, leading to an escalation in the conflict between them

Kylo still needs the FO administration and logistics running.

But it would be nice if Kylo goes more and more mad, and when IX starts, the FO is already in disarray with Hux plotting Kylo's assassination. Thou I don't really believe JJ will go this dark.

Just loosely and quickly thinking here...this is what I also believe will be fairly close to Abrams' story....

    --------------------

    1. Start of IX is like 5+ years from the end of VIII -- which allows for setting up a galaxy without Leia, as well as allowing the First Order to be the New Empire, fully in power.

    2. The cliffhanger of VIII (who will Rey get with) is already answered in VIII -- Rey just wanted to turn Kylo because he was the Rebellion's only hope against the First Order. She has no interest in him really. She refused to turn to the dark for "love", because peace is more important than love, the bigger picture is more important, whereas Rose is more worried about here and now and love, not sacrificing for the bigger picture. But Rey has a lot more weight on her shoulders now. The galaxy relies on her. She has to stay good and she "won't fail Luke like Ben failed him".

So, going off those two presets.

Five years on, the First Order is the New Empire. Kylo Ren is the Supreme Leader, same power as Sidious. Rey has established a new Jedi Academy already and Force Ghost Luke often pays her a visit. The paltry remnants of the Rebellion are growing, with allied systems around the galaxy having joined in the cause especially since Leia is pre-established now as having passed away, these allied systems will join in honor of Leia.

Kylo has a new apprentice, a new character introduced, new actor. This apprentice will be a woman. Since being spurned by Rey, Kylo has kind of taken on a female apprentice as kind of a surrogate love-interest. There is no Force Skyping with Rey anymore because it's been established that that was only happening in VIII because Snoke was manifesting it. So the connection gone, Rey and Kylo are back to being mortal enemies.

As a change up from the old Sith ways, Kylo will have his own Academy too, training younglings in the teachings of the dark side. The Knights of Ren will be introduced as like a Green Beret of the First Order, special ops. Kylo has called on them and they've come. We will actually get like a group of 5 to 7 of them, some of them established known actors with speaking parts. And we will see them on missions in the same vein as that crack unit in "Aliens 2" -- each member has a unique and conflicting personality, they all talk, we really get a feel for each one quickly in the same good writing as "Aliens 2" when first introducing them.

The Rebellion will have control of some situation/world, that is key for the First Order/New Empire strategically. So Kylo will call on the KoR for a special mission. They'll go to this situation about mid-way thru the film, and will succeed, helping turn the tide, or nipping that bud. Poe is the leader of the growing Rebellion, with Finn and Rose reliable assets and great soldiers. But the First Order is getting the upper-hand, and perhaps are even developing a SKB-v2, or some other super weapon, perhaps even a Lightspeed Weapon after seeing what Holdo's act did. Poe will be worried by this discovery, and the fate of the galaxy, of good, is teetering, and he can't seem to make inroads, so he calls on his old friend, Rey, to come help the Rebellion, she is needed to come back from her Academy and make a difference.

This makes her also sigh, because she has to face Kylo again, someone she kind of had a thing for once, has empathy for, but also who went off after being rejected by her, and became an even nastier Supreme Leader and fully dark. She may even feel she failed to turn him, that she's a failure in a way (Yoda's lesson to Luke), and not sure how she can stop him, or turn him. It will also bring up old wounds for Kylo to see Rey again. It's been so long, five years, since she shut the door in his face.

Finn and Rose, with the help of some new "older" character in the Lando type ilk, will infiltrate some planet or base that controls the Super Weapon, to try to disable it. And while that's all happening, Rey and Kylo finally meet in some dark area of that same planet/base, or on Kylo's ship, which might also be breaking apart due to heavy waves of X-Wings attacking it during this large-scale co-ordinated battle. Rey will have scythed her way thru the KoR that were there, showing how much her power in the Force has grown. She holds herself, has the same air/grace, as Luke did in ROTJ. There will be a very awkward and emotional meeting between Kylo and Rey in this scene. Hurt feelings and memories will rise, and then it all spills over into a lightsaber fight. Epic.

Rey wins the fight yet again, perhaps severing Kylo's arm, but she will spare him his life. But Kylo will not take that as an end result -- that the woman he loved rejected him, then beat him again, then offered him peace and life if he were to power down the First Order, he'll want to go out fighting to the death, to die alongside his Empire. By this time Kylo's apprentice has managed to scramble back to Kylo's ship (or base) to try to help her master, she's there just in time to see Rey left with no alternative but to kill a never-say-die Kylo. Who will go out screaming and in agony much like Anakin did on the bank of that Lava river on Mustafa after Obi-Wan cut him down. Kylo all twisted and badly wounded, yelling.

Kylo's young apprentice will take up her lightsaber, and run in to attack Rey, but by this time Poe, Finn, Rose and that Lando-like character have managed to disable that Super Weapon, which also causes that planet/base to be in system failure. They need to get out of there. Meanwhile, Kylo's ship (or if he's at that same base) is also breaking apart, and so this lightsaber fight between Kylo's apprentice and Rey will be very quick, the floor and ceiling collapsing, causing them to become separated (like SKB earth splitting). Rey and the apprentice have to flee. We see the apprentice getting away in the nick of time in her TIE (like Vader in ANH), as Kylo's ship explodes. Cut to Rey meeting up with her Rebel friends Poe, Finn, etc, there's a lot of hugging and celebration between them. Roll credits.

Oh, and that planet/base will resemble the world of Endor, where there's some new indigenous alien species that helps the Rebels beat up the First Order troopers there allowing them to infiltrate that base to disable the Super Weapon.

Yes, please. The ST has felt so "small" in contrast to the stakes and galaxy-spanning locales of the OT and PT.

The mods will not be locking a thread merely because you disagree on a potential plot point.

So this is replacing the what now thread? My plot thread was closed because of that one.

I think it's better to have a plot thread with the word plot in it.

I think the plot is yet again going to subvert expectations. I'm no Reylo fan, but it's clear to me that's what they have planned.

Here's the basics of what will happen: Kylo will lead the First Order for a time, but his increasing losses to the Rebellion will lead to schism in the First Order. More of the First Order will side with their military leader Hux, and through some kind of sneakiness, or through allying himself with another darksider, he will take Kylo Ren prisoner and plan to execute him.

Before that can happen, Rey will save the day and Kylo becomes Ben again. The whole story is planned to be an inverse of the Anakin-Padme relationship. Through their love, the Force is balanced and the First Order defeated.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Finn sub-plot has something to do with inciting a Stormtrooper rebellion. It sounds like a scene like that was cut from TLJ.

So we'll end the Saga now with a more firm statement about the Force and Galaxy: there needs to be balance between extreme sides. Rey and Ben symbolize that unity and their children suggest that things will remain in balance: their children will be symbols of light and dark in perfect harmony.

This will allow LFL to return to Skywalker stories in the future, if they want to.

Not that this is the Reylo or Rey Parentage thread but that whole concept sends a bad message to those girls who are supposed to look up to Rey. Disney has made billions upon billions off of girls with role models. Rey and a murderer, redeemed or not, says that it's okay for girls to "be" with a criminal who has committed atrocious acts. Nothing to look up to and it makes Rey look weak. Also, it serves a very specific demographic (late teen, early 20's females) who are "into" that sort of thing. It quickly alienates everyone else who makes up 99% of fans and audiences.

You think there was any sort of backlash against TLJ? Can't even imagine!
