Possible Upcoming Costuming and Prop-making Forum

We received feedback that some people were disappointed that the Costuming and Prop-making forum never pushed through during the Convention. We apologize for that. The cancellation was due to unforeseen circumstances.

To make up for it, we were planning on pushing through with the SW Costuming and Prop-Making Forum this month. The tentative date is June 18th, and we would like to know how many people are interested to attend. Please post to signify your interest in attending.

greetings jedi_ginny, interested i am.. but you say its on june 18? hmm.. i wanted to, but that's the date of my graduation. i won't be able to attend. though i have a background in costume. because i learn it from my course.. i want to learn more.

anyhoo, hindi pa naman final ang June 18. looks like we have scheduling conflicts sa venue, but watch out, we'll announce the final details soon.

H! im glad you still remember my course Jedi_Ginny. anyways, i hope its not yet final. i already told it to my mom and ask her permission about it. she told me as long as my schedule is okay. she will allow me and i hope by that time the weather will be fine. thanks!

 

It's looking a lot like it will push through on the 18th, since the group that was previously scheduled to use the venue cancelled na. We just need approval from the owner. Sayang naman, Moppet. What time is your graduation ba? Afternoon naman ang forum. And baka pwede ka pa makahabol, if ever.

hmmm....saan po ang venue and what do participants have to bring? any fees that need to be paid? (im not complaining, i just wanna be ready. hehe)

 

hi my jedi friends, my graduation will be in the morning.. im not yet sure if i can make it. because the looks of it baka stressed na me i will wake up around 5 am kasi 8am ang graduation and it will end around 11am and of course you cant leave the venue immediately because you have some friends there, (picture taken!!) but i will try, pray that my mom will allow me to go to.. my graduation will be held in picc. i can bring the whole people of coruscant if i want to.. as long as you arrived early. so you can get a seat or else you will stand for hours!!

The proposed venue is Brash Young Cinema in Legazpi Village, Makati. But again, we are still asking permission from the owner.

Unfortunately, attendees will have to pay a fee, kasi may rental fee din ang venue. Pero not too much naman. Sobra na ang 100 pesos.

 

Well that fee is justified i think! im quite excited.Hope you make it Moppet my friend!

SWP has two fanfilms already. One is "Checkmate", a comedy directed by Gary Mayoralgo. The newest one, which was shown at the recently-held Mos Eisley Night in Hard Rock Cafe, is "Twilight Jedi", a serious one directed by yours truly. It will be downloadable soon, and will also be shown at the upcoming ToyCon

Star Wars Philippines is inviting you to the first session of our SW Costuming Forum on Saturday, June 18th, 2pm-6pm at Brash Young Cinema (please refer to map at this URL:

Session 1 will tackle Jedi costumes, lightsabers, and costumes for
royalty. Session 2 will be sometime next month, most likely, and will tackle armor and Imperial costumes.

Since the venue we will be using requires a rental fee, we will also require attendees to pay an entrance fee. Premium members will get discounts. Please watch out for the final details in the coming days.

Attendees are encouraged to be at the venue on time, since we are on
a strict schedule dur to venue reservation restrictions. Attendees
are also encouraged to bring pen and paper for note-taking. Lecture
handouts will be available for download in the SWP website after the
Seminar.

Also, watch out for Session 2 of the Costuming and Prop-making
Seminar, which will tackle Imperial costumes and armor, and a taste
of other Dark Side regalia.
