:D And you can't even see her feather duster tail there. Even more ostrich. Slightly more visible poof here.

@solojones -- there's a dog at our dog run that looks so much like your dog (just bigger) that I keep looking for you...

Just said goodbye to my furry friend. He got very sick very fast and, well, anyway . . . he was suffering really badly and letting him go was the right thing to do. So hard. So hard. I keep wanting to say that I loved him, but that's not true: I love him, present tense. He's gone, my love isn't. I can't get into the specifics of why I believe what I believe nor do I want to debate any larger spiritual questions right now. I just know that I whispered into his ear that I would see him in a little while and, as silly as it probably sounds since he didn't understand anyway, I wouldn't have lied to him. He had many health problems through his life and it was kind of a compounding of more than one of those that led to his passing today. I honestly believe that right now he is in perfect health. I don't think he's going to forget me, but neither is he going to miss me exactly. I think he'll just somehow know that I'll be joining him in a little while and he'll be okay with that. I think he's as content as he ever has been. I know he's in no pain. I know he made my life better for the past eight years. He was a much better dog than I've been a human, if we're going to be frank. If he gets an afterlife that connects at all to the good he did here on earth, he'll be in the highest circle of heaven. Looks like I have a lot to live up to if I'm going to keep my promise to him. For now, here he is. My good dog.

Why, no, he wasn't spoiled, why do you ask?

    Almost no grey!

    Merry Christmas, baby.

I posted this once and someone asked if he was the half (you know, of Rogue1-and-a-half). Today, I'm the one that feels like the half.

I love you, Logan. See you in a while.

Sorry to hear that Stephen. I like to think if there is a mutual dog/human afterlife every dog is there to greet their human at the door for an onslaught of hugs and licks.

Thanks for all the condolences, guys. It's been a very, very hard day. I fear waking up in the morning because I'm sure I'll have forgotten and my first thought will be to let him out to do his morning routine. Ah well, he kind of saved my life, being here for some of my roughest times. He was a Godsend and he did his job well. I should probably have gone to bed a long time ago. Well, I guess I'll go now and tomorrow will be a little better than today and, you know, so on. Night, guys.

This is our floof yawning at daycare:

We've only had him about 7 months (about half of his life) and I'm already having nightmares about having to put him down whenever, and crying at stories I read online about it -- so I can't really imagine what that's going to be like. My heart aches for you @Rogue1-and-a-half

Oh, yeah, isn't your black dog also a Logan?

Thanks again, guys. Today is better, though still sad, of course. But I'm very glad to see so many happy pets in the thread today. :)
