Me at work a few years ago. Me at work ten minutes ago. Age does terrible things to people. Also, that's a latrine in the background. My chicken strip looks like Nemo!
Er... If it wasn't a picture at work it'd be a picture of me sleeping. And yes, I realize the second pic could be on the Wikipedia page for "clinical depression"
Yankee8255, you are only feeding the cliché that all Austrians are wearing "Trachten". Anyway, your face seems awfully familiar to me. Any chance our paths have crossed at a comic convention in Vienna in the past?
I realize people in Viena think there's nothing but mountains and cows outside the city's borders, but in the rest of the country Trachten are quite popular, almost a little too popular at this point. Never been to a comic convention anywhere, but I did live in Vienna for almost 2 years, worked on the Schubert Ring, lived in the 6th, right near the Apollo Kino. Didn't realize anyone else here lived in Austria.
Yeah, I guess that gain in popularity is to blame on that Gabalier guy. Haven't been to Salzburg in years, but not to worry, I don't make a difference between city folk and country folk. They all have the common negative quality of being Austrians. Mariahilf, ha! So I guess you might be familiar with A.J.'s, the only decent-ish American Restaurant we've got. I live in Hernals (17th district).
I lived in the 17th for a summer when I was in Vienna for an internship, Weißgasse. Never been to AJs, I think I recall walking past it (Gumpendorfer Str?).
No way! I live up the hill (Schumanngasse), and the only district locals I know are a family living on Weißgasse 50. Small World. Yup, that's the one. I think it's right next to the Apollo Theater. Do give me a heads-up if you ever stop by Vienna! We'll have our own little super-exclusive Austrian JCC FF get-together.
Wanderguard, clean your car. That thing is a landfill on wheels. You probably thought the chicken tender would distract us but I am an herbivore. I saw right past your little smokescreen. I'm surprised there wasn't a seagull sitting on the pile of rubbish on the passenger side floor. How will you ever be able to drive a pretty young lady around if she has to share her foot space with a seagull?
I was all the way at the other end, just off the Ottakringerstrasse. I'll let you know about meeting up, I'm in Vienna every few months, but usually just business day trips.
It's a work truck, it's not mine I do need to clean it though. Trash falls out if I open the passenger door lol.
All the Vienna talk made me go back and find a pic from the last time I was there, which was a long time ago. Oh yeah, the white border is because this is a scanned physical photo, which is probably like something out of a history book for some of you. I actually miss arranging vacation pictures in order for the album.
