Discussion Post Credits Teaser?

Post-credits scenes have become a cliche and a ridiculous tease since credits are exhaustively long. When seeing Iron Man 3, I was even told by the ticket guy to stay after the credits, for what amounted to nothing really.

Lol, I find it funny the ticket guy has to warn anyone about the post-credits by this point in the game.

 

Maybe not a whole scene, but something like the Vader breathing at the end of TPM would be cool. An Ewok singing a song, perhaps.

 

Im kinda shocked by the overwhelming vote against "no credit teaser". I get that its not Star Wars. I get that its over done. But to have 30 seconds of footage for what might happen in VIII - and give us fodder for a few months - I say is win/win

It's not Star Wars (for a proper "episode". Spin off flicks? Go nuts!) but I can see it happening anyway since it's the *in* thing to do.

Correct my memory everyone. Didnt at the end of Episode I or II we hear Vader breathing? That's kinda of a teaser?

That was after the credits of The Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones had Vader breathing just after Anakin slaughtered the Tusken Raiders and Qui-Gon briefly called out to him.

A few seconds of the sound of Vader breathing doesn't really equate to a teaser in the sense of the teaser clips from other movies that have video, sound, actors, dialogue, etc.

 

I had the idea of a fan-edit, putting a post-credits scene at the end of A New Hope, showing Vader's TIE Advanced heading to Vaal. I would be against putting one in Episode VII though.

 

For me personally, I hope they don't add anything after the credits. But I am a traditionalist, and don't feel you should change something that is already a success.
