Beer is for losers. Bourbon is the drink of champions.

Yeah, bourbon is for champions. That's the kind of thing I say after 20 beers.

It isn't, really. I'm just not a beer guy.

I make it a point to try every beer I come across at least. My cousin is the beer guy, he loves it all. So I just tag a long with him sometimes. I haven't found one I like yet.

Bourbon on the other hand? It's flavorful, it's nice to sip on, it's smooth as all hell. I love it. I don't go for any other kind of whiskey though. I DO like some rums.

Give me a hard time, I can take it.

I do drink bourbon, after all.

To be honest, I used to be kind of a prude when it came to all alcohol. I didn't like any of it. It was only recently that I came to even like bourbon. I may turn around on beer some day.

EDIT: WTF was this topic about again? Oh yeah, some George Lucas ref.

To answer the original question: Sure?

I didn't drink beers for years, TheAvengerButton. Mainly wine and rum/cokes, and other stuff. Then about two years ago I got into beer again--first thing it did was, it cured me of a headache. Like it wanted to make amends.

Where is your icon from? A Marvel comic?

It's from Star Wars: Dark Empire. It's a weird comic.

Ha, that's awesome. That's one reason I like to drink bourbon--it really helps you relax. But I don't think I've ever gotten drunk before.

Do you have a preference when it comes to beer?

Not really. I'm from Holland, so I gravitate towards Heineken and Amstel, and "Texel beer", but whenever I'm abroad I drink stuff like Corona or Stella Artois and I'm fine with those too. I'm not really choosy when it comes to different tastes. I consider beer to be halfway between soda and actual alcohol. Though this might be the beers talking.

Do you drink your bourbon straight, or mixed with some other drink?

the only proper way to drink alcohol is to find the drink with the highest alcohol by volume percent and slam it down as fast as you can

That's a pretty good and fair summation of beer, methinks. I've tried Heineken, but I've never heard of the other two. I'm guessing "Texel beer" is something you can only get local?

I've never been to Holland so I don't know how beer is perceived there, but here in Kentucky in the U.S. it's a very social drink. And I'm pretty social, but when I'm around other people I'd rather just talk uninhibited. When I drink bourbon its usually when I just want to relax at home in private.

As to your other question, I drink my bourbon straight and warm. No ice and no mixes. I think mixes actually detract from both the alcohol and the drink you're mixing it with. Though, to be fair, I haven't actually tried that many mixes.[face_whistling]
