Before YT, there was a thing where when you said "prank," you were talking about something that required planning or there was a set-up or a trick. Like the blind bungee jumping there. I'll even allow that putting hot sauce in a drink or cellophane in a doorway is a prank. As low key as those are, there's a level of tricking the person into thinking one thing is happening and another thing is really happening and sometimes there are really simple ones that are also really clever (like the girl in the trashbag bit in the video, which is hilarious). But now, it's like you can run into a room and hit someone in the face and that's a "prank." Like a kid is sleeping and you just smear whipped cream on his face. What a hilarious "prank." How clever. Sometimes, it's a prank; sometimes, you're just an ass. Not really talking about this video, which has some funny stuff in it, but those YouTube channels that are like entirely based around "prank" videos are internet cancer.

Like the wedding ring thing in that video there is a good example of a funny prank in my opinion. I also kind of judge the quality of a prank on how much the prankee gets a kick out of it afterwards (or even during). I mean, pulling that wedding ring prank on some people would make them furious, but the fact that the bride can't stop laughing in that vid is what makes it a good prank.
