This video has a kind of jingoistic title, but in attempting to explain why Arab countries have a poor military track record, it puts its finger on some notable problems with the societies of the Arab countries. First, as expected, it points to colonialism. A reason why there's not strong societal cohesion and a great degree of buy-in of the national identity in Arab countries is that the states and their borders are colonial creations. Another important factor is autocracy. Because all of the polities are in place by force, it presents serious challenges to their militaries. Loyalty is not as strong as it should be and the power structure is as much pointed inward as it is outward.
