Post-release Spoiler Rules and Forum Changes

As you all know, Attack of the Clones is fast approaching.


What's that? ?

 

The AOTC mods will do their job well.

 

Isn't every mod pretty much an AOTC mod after the 16th (or whever it is that they see it)?

"They'll do their job well."

 

I'm sure there will b some AOTC spoiler mods who want to mod the Ep3 spoiler forum.

We won't start having real spoilers till earliest August, so we have some time to sort us out.

 

Okay, maybe this is a dumb question that's already been answered somewhere else, but when the "AotC and Episode III (Non-Spoilers)" forum is renamed "Episode III (Non-Spoilers)", and the "AotC (Spoilers)" forum is renamed "AotC" and becomes the official AotC forum - then what happens to all the the AotC-related threads currently in the NS forum?

 

They'll probably stay there and eventually get pushed down by Episode 3-related threads.

 

They die, hew No, they'll most likely be kept in the new Eppy III non spoilers since it's the same forum. Wow... it's scary. Not seeing the 2 titles up there anymore... kind of sad to think that in a few short years there will be only Episode III, II, I, and OT, with no special spoiler forums and non spoiler forums... what will happen to the boards then?

Anything in NSA you want to save, I would say save it somewhere. We can't move threads, and the way snowboard has been acting lately, who knows what will happen.

 

I know they can't be moved or archive, but will they be locked...or left to sink on their own and eventually be pruned? And what if they're not locked? Will it be okay for members to up threads they want to see saved, even though they might be off-topic for an Ep. III forum?

Or are we all just screwed?

 

I would go with the screwed option.

Whether or not the threads will be closed will be up to the NSA mods but I doubt they'll be closed initially. Maybe in the future when everyone's talking about Episode III, if a bunch of AOTC threads are upped, I can see them being closed but I would imgine they'd do that only when it becomes a clear nuisance.

Hey, at least we're not nuking the forum outright. Some wanted to waste both AOTC forums and start over.

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea...

 

Well, I strongly OBJECT to such an early discussion date for all the forums. Getting tickets for this weekend is going to be almost impossible. Next weekend is a weekend from hell for me, so that's out of the question. Going during weeknights is very hard. Some of us do have lives and aren't losers who line up for midnight showings.

Put discussion of spoilers off for at least a couple of weeks in forums like the EU forums and other forums not specifically about AOTC.

I hang out in EUC and Literature, but if you're going to allow spoiler topics so soon, I guess I have no other choice than to leave the boards until after I see the movie because it is inevitable that some jack*** is going to post a major spoiler in a thread title and BOOM, so much for staying spoiler free!

I don't suppose that discussion to combine TPM and AOTC forums could be reopened?

I won't lose sleep if it doesn't happen, but it would be nice to see.

 

Don't combine them. There will be mass confusion!

 

I think the TPM crowd would be pretty much drowned out in an arrangement like that.

 

I certainly hope TPM and AOTC aren't combined... at least for quite a while.
