As do I. Oh man, I wish she would quit hollywood and become a porn star. Besides, her acting would better suit their needs anyways. lol...(sigh)

    Likes:

Immersive pseudo-reality, filled with wonderful imagery and in-depth detail that lends much to the movie
Bits and pieces of fantastic acting, characterization, and writing
    Interesting, surprisingly intricate plot/sub-plot
Fantastic set pieces that will wow DVD fans with their visuals and speaker blasting sound
Some of the most mature and moving scenes in all of the series

    Dislike:

Tiny soundtrack, at times barely audible
A few sub-par cgi shots that deter the realization of the movie's atmosphere
Slightly dry direction, however it understandably stays in tune to the direction style of previous films, with exception to those awful zoom shots during the final war scenes
Plot has a few unexcusable holes that arent thoroughly addressed
Mixed personal emotions on Yoda fight
Unbelievable romance that did not sink in until second viewing
Bit and pieces of poor acting, characterization, and writing
Would have prefered Boba Fett to remain a mystery

Hmm...I suppose that about does it. It may seem that I am heavily weighted towards the negative, my overall opinion of the movie is positive, and I believe the movie will shine under a brighter light when looked upon in conjunction with the other 5 episodes.

Why should I post my list of 10 when I would just retype everything Quixotic Sith said?

All I want to re-emphasize is how appallingly bad the Nat/Hayden romance was. I don't know if I've ever seen a worse.

Binary, I recommend watching Top Gun or Pearl Harbor. In fact, any Jerry Bruckheimer production with a romantic subplot. You may be unpleasantly surprised :)

I love Star Wars, so I can honestly say that it kills to say anything bad about it... but:

    Likes:
    5. Anakin was really good - MINUS the love scenes.

    4. I LOVED ALL of the events that occured on Tatooine, the characters - for once - ALL showed depth and emotion.

    3. Obi-Wan Kenobi/Ewan McGregor - gotta love our Obi-One and Only and Ewie McLover.

    2. John Williams score - he ROCKS! I love Across the Stars, the ending finale (imperial march and AtS), and they even had a little bit of my tune! (Trade Federation Droid Invasion from TPM)

    1. Padme's Costumes - I'll admit that Amidala's costumes in TPM were very scarey looking. But AOTC had a surprisingly gorgeous wardrobe!!

    Dislikes:
    5. The lightsaber duels weren?t quite as fast and intricate as TPM, which is a downer cuz TPM coreography rocked! Anakin doesn?t appear to have that extraordinary amount of skills and powers as he was thought to have. Couldn't he have been a little fancier with the two lightsabers? Young Obi would have.

    4. The love between Padme and Anakin did not seem true and sincere. They had no chemistry, but perhaps this is the point - we all know that it won't work out. These scenes felt pushed and cliched.

    3. C-3PO's riddiculous lines in the arena! Okay, I did laugh at them, but that was because I was helplessly embarrassed by this patheic attempt to make C-3PO funny. He's always been funny because he talks too much and tells them their chances - which they DON'T want to hear.

    2. Why does Obi-Wan have to get the ugly long hair and beard so early in the trilogy? He could have that cute spikey cut longer, then aquire the icky long hair MUCH later on.

    1. The acting/dialog, I think that everyone knows what I'm talking about. Did anyone not hear Padme's ranting monologue about sand?

Anyway, regardless of the 5 dislikes, This movie was absolutely awesome! I could have wept it was so good.

"TokyoExtreme, whether you're a basher or a gusher, I think we can all agree on the #1 reason you liked AOTC."

Well, personally, I have to disagree. Being female, I'd take Ewan over Natalie any day. ;)

As for my top ten, in no particular order...

    1. Palpatine's "I love democracy" speech. Classic.
    2. The special effects--almost all were great.
    3. Yoda kicking major backside!
    4. The Geonosis arena battle. Need I say more? Even 3PO's lines didn't bother me that much. ;)
    5. The Kaminoans. Coolest SW alien yet, IMO.
    6. Obi-Wan and Jango's first meeting. Great intensity.
    7. The Tusken slaughtering and Anakin's confession. Awesome--gives me goosebumps every time.
    8. The score. I didn't care much for the speeder chase music, but other than that it was wonderful. I especially loved the music from the Younglings scene and the wedding.
    9. Young Owen and Beru. I wish they'd had a few more lines, especially Beru, but seeing them at all was great.
    10. The Death Star appearance. That was one thing I didn't know about going in, and I was beside myself with glee. ;)

This is off-topic, but it's something I've been wondering about: exactly which music is Across the Stars? I've seen several posts about that, and I'm not sure which piece of music that is. ?[face_plain]

Across the Stars is the love theme for Anakin and Padme. It plays during the wedding, their first kiss, the wide shot of Padme running in the meadow on Naboo, and probably some other various places in the movie.

Beautiful music, if I do say so myself. Especially at the wedding because it plays so intensely.

    10) The Arena Monsters, classic Star Wars.

    9) Jango + Slave I, great to see Slave I in action, and Jango was just to cool.

    8) Haydens acting, the confession scene, the funeral, and his argument with Obi-Wan in the Gunship were 3 of the best acted moments in Star Wars!

    7) The musicial finale, best of the saga

    6) Coruscant Chase, rivals the asteroid chase in ESB for me

    5) The whole Tatooine sequence, from Watto to the funeral, some of the best acting in the saga, if not the best acting.

    4) The humour, Obi-Wan and C3PO were awesome.

    3) Across the Stars theme, brilliant, almost as good as Duel of the Fates.

    2) Anakin's character, watching him show arrogance, humour, hate, compassion etc all in one film

    1) OBI-WAN KENOBI! He is so good in this film, Ewan got the character dead on, Obi-Wan nearly rivals Luke as my favourite charater in the saga now, and probably will be after Ep 3.

    My opinion.

    I hated (not in order):

1.Padme/Anakin romace: in one word, RI-DI-CU-LOUS, and the lines were TERRIBLE. Just like I read -don't remember where- it looks like they were only the "excuse" to Luke and Leia's born. Don't get me wrong, I love romance plots, but this was annoying.

2.Too much digital effect. Geonosis doesn't look very realistic, looks like a mate paiting, and some ships and characters doesn't look good either.

3.The Tusken Raider slaughtery was TOO short.

4.Too few lines to Owen and Beru (as far I remember, she doesn't speak in the movie).

    5.Christiansen's acting. Very, very poor.

6.I wanted to see Anakin kicking Sebulba's ass.

7.C3PO some times sounds like Jar Jar..

    8.R2D2 flying???

9.I wanted to see Plo Koon in action (he was very briefly in Geonosis).

    10. Where was R5-D4????

    I love:

1.Final duel. "Impressive... most impressive". Looks like wars can make a little puppet great!

2.Count Dooku and Lee's performance. Perfect!

3.Watching how is a gang of Jedis in action.

    4.Geonosis battle arena... "Good job!"

5.Knowing the origin of Beru and Owen.

6.Obi-Wan and McGregor's performance. The "old fossil" was indeed "a great man!"

    7.Clonetroopeers.

8.C3PO taking his place stolen by Jar Jar in TPM.

    9.Palpatine.

10.Action sequences (examples: Coruscant and asteroid chase) were exciting and well done.

    Just my opinion.

    Thing I liked:

    1. Obi-Wan/Ewan. Enough said.
    2. Darker than TPM, but not TOO dark...a good amount of darkness, I think.
    3. VERY LITTLE JAR-JAR. Hopefully in Ep 3 I will get the pleasure of seeing him die a very slow, very painful death.
    4. Speeder chase scene. That was very cool.
    5. Zam Wesell. Once again, enough said.
    6. Obi-Wan/Ewan
    7. Obi-Wan
    8. Ewan
    9. Also liked Daniel Logan as Boba Fett. A movie can never be truly good without some Kiwis.
    10. Did I mention Ewan yet?

This one was posted by duckman, and i have a question for you duckman

Is there any way to please you??? i will explain

    10. No Han Solo ? just Ewan McGregor pretending to be British.
    9. CGI, no matter how photo-realistic, is the tool of the devil.
    8. No Luke Skywalker ? just that whiny Anakin punk.
    7. Making the clone wars about actual clones proves Lucas has run out of ideas.
    6. No Princess Leia ? just that wooden (but very, very hot) Padme.
    5. Too much action ? what happened to plot?
    4. No Darth Vader ? just some old geezer with a bent lightsaber. Old people are useless.
    3. Too much talking ? what happened to action?
    2. Romance and sex does not belong in a Star Wars film. Luke and Leia should have been adopted instead.
    1. Yoda fighting was put in just for the fans. How dare Lucas try and please us!

Numbers 5 and 3 are exacty opposite, first you say, too much action, then what happened to the action. and what happened to the plot and too much talking. just wanted to tell you that.

No offense to TPM lovers, but Ewan is hardly even in that one. Is this some kind of sick joke? Plus, Trainspotting is the best, of course.

10 reasons i truly loved the AOTC

    10. when ani was riding the animals back..it looked so real!

    9. the shortened rain battle...brilliant!

    8. GL's supperior nack for editing a film.

    7. obi's constantly changing beard..how did they do that?

    6. the droid factory scene...sure was lucky for ani that that metal plate had a dent just the size of his arm.

    5. padme getting up after her fall, wow, i couldnt tell if she was really hurt or it was just a stunt... i was really worried about her!

    4. how dooku showed how age doesnt matter, man he wooped ani and obi and showed yoda after fighting the ladder two that he could still completely hold his own again the most powerful of all jedi, and after only 10 years of sith school, wow! and yoda only had 900 years to perfect his abilities.

    3. the shorter the lightsaber fight, the better i like it...yippeeee!

    2. all of the wonderful cg constantly showing us that computer generated backdrops are truly more important than story, content, and plot.

    Drum Roll!

    and number one iS....

    why i hated:

    1. bad acting, on christiansons part
    2. too much cgi- its like candy, too much and you get tired of it
    3. yoda- looked real fake, needed a puppet
    4. bad dialouge- it was plain bad
    5. Jar Jar- what an idiot
    6. Jango Fett- killed the mystery, destroyed the character
    7. Story- too clear cut
    8. Dex's Dinner- i just dont get it
    9. Hype- too much, therfore no thrills
    10. the referance to the Death Star, it was not needed

    some redemaing factors:

    1. end battle- sure it was pitched but it was still fun
    2. Portman- need i say more
    3. some good humor
    4. ob1- "i feel your going to be the death of me Anikan"

    Top 10 reasons against:

    10. Too many special effects
    9. Jar-Jar ain't dead yet
    8. Padme still keeps her mouth open too much
    7. Anakin sounds like he's always out of breath
    6. Padme recovers from her 100ft fall way too easy
    5. A bounty hunter should be easy for a Jedi to take out
    4. Windu's fighting isn't all that impressive
    3. I didn't get to see Plo Koon in man-to-man combat
    2. Anakin's tantrums do NOT scare me
    1. CG Yoda

    Top 10 reasons for:

    10. CG Yoda
    9. Yoda throws down
    8. Obi-Wan more human
    7. No more Jake Lloyd
    6. Better special effects than first
    5. Padme less stiff
    4. More a sense of the OT here
    3. Lightsabre duel surpasses TPM
    2. Ian McDiarmid delivers again
    1. Christopher Lee is absolutely astonishing.

Here comes Auge, once again whoring himself in vain for a little bit of attention.

My top 10 things in AOTC:

    10) New alien characters:
    a) Kit Fisto's toothy grin. So glad GL found a way to work in that million-dollar smile. :D
    b) Dexter Jettster adds some backstory and street cred for Obi-Wan and some color to the SW universe. Besides, if we didn't see him we wouldn't get that split-second shot of Hermione Bagwa. [face_love]
    c) The beautiful alien enchantress known as Taun We. [face_love] [face_love]

    9) The Lars family. Admit it, you felt like you were smack in the middle of Episode IV. In fact, go watch ANH right now and think of Episode II. The first hour will feel like you're watching it again for the first time.

    8) Obi-Wan: "...care of the Old Folks' Home." Watch your words there, Obi. Someday you and the small one will be the lone residents of said institution.

    7) Watto. The flies landing on him at in unison as he recognizes his old slave, his pride at seeing the closest thing to a child he has ever had all grown up... In TPM and now AOTC, Watto has proven to be the single greatest character in the SW universe.

    6) Nute Gunray - the biggest surprise of the film. I never quite cared for him in TPM, but his presence in that film is more than justified by his absurdly comedic turn in AOTC.

    5) Obi-Wan using the Force to open a Kaminoan door. Admit it, you've all done the hand motion upon entering the automatic doors of a grocery store at least once in your life. And if you're like me, probably more than once.

    4) Anakin: "Don't worry, we have R2 with us." Could've been phrased better, but the sentiment was priceless.

    3) Seismic charges. Without a doubt, the (second) biggest crowd-pleasing moment of the flick. Give us a two hour movie of just that and it'd make Spiderman money. (This only applies in theaters with digital sound.)

    2) Zam-eltoe. Forget the Jawa juice, I'll take a tall, refreshing glass of Clawdite 'Tang.

    1) Yoda.

Ask me about the Bottom 10 after I've seen it a few hundred more times. ;)

    10) Although love seen was a bit odd, it was definetly a new idea to the Star Wars saga.

    9) Lee was great as Dooku.

    8) Great foreshadowing.

    7) Plenty of fun Saber battles.

    6) Seeing kid Boba

    5) Purple Lightsaber!

    4) Yoda owns~

    3) Natalie Portman mmm... ^_~

    2) Seeing all the Jedi fight together.

    1) Obi-Wan was done justice, good actor, good scenes, my favorite Jedi was potrayed quite well.

    10 reasons I [face_love]ed AOTC:

    10) It was the first time I saw a SW movie in the cinema [face_blush] :p
    9) There's a lot of humour and sarcasm.
    8) The love story.
    7) Jango, Boba and Zam.
    6) We see a lot of planets, and 2 of them are new. I also liked to 'visit' Coruscant with more depth.
    5) The soundtrack.
    4) Yoda fighting!
    3) Great action scenes: the speeder chase, the arena battle, the lightsaber duel, the asteroid field,...
    2) Great acting: Christensen, Lee, McDiarmid, McGregor,... (I remark Christensen because I think he did a great job. Lee and McDiarmid were great as well, but they're veterans. This was Christensen's first 'big' job, and honestly, I underrated him at first, I didn't think he had such talent. Wow.)
    1) Anakin and his 'flashes of the dark side', his impulsive passion (the duel - I'm taking him now!-, jumping on Zam's speeder ,...), the tusken camp and his mom,... His character was treated with much more depth than in TPM obviously, it's interesting to see the evolution of the character and how his path is leading him to the Dark Side.
