PT Practical Effects in the Prequels- Sets, Pictures, Models, etc.

So hey guys, 7 AM Monday here and I've JUST finished compiling the image collection. I've spent the entire weekend working on it and have gone through EVERY page of this thread and EVERY source I could find.

The tally is currently at 971 images in 71 folders at around 260 MB large. Don't judge me lol, once I start working on something I like I do it obsessively till it's done, sleep and life be damned.

So there's just 6 images left that I need you guys to help me identify:

Now all I need is to identify these images and add them to the collection and it should be pretty done for now. Will upload the folders to my google drive and in a RAR file as soon as it is complete.

the top one is from a cut scene from ep 2 where jedi were going to be fighting on a droid control ship. the last pic with the round thing may be a cut trial scene from ep 2 as well.

the bluray has even more like the deleted droid ship attack.

 

This looks nothing like the Geonosis room in that video. It look more like the Nightclub exterior or interior but it's hard to be sure.

3rd one down is the back half of a model of one of podracers.

 

No not Geonosis, it's the interior of Coruscant nightclub, it's in the french insider I still have from 2000 or 2001.

well the 2nd might be a model of the Geonosian hangar where the Slave 1 lands, though the interior of the hangar is not seen in the film they may still have built it and planned to shoot... it's clearly Geonosis at least
3rd may be for the droid factory sequence given it's one of the very few scenes that were actually all blue screen due to being late pick-ups
4th one is easy: model of Teemto Pagalies' pod racer for the hangar or starting grid or both (it's only CG during the race)
5th one: I'd say it's whether a portion of Coruscant industrial area, where they pass through during the chase in AOTC, or it could be part of the "Star Destroyers parking" where Anakin and Obi-Wan have their last goodbye in ROTS. The guy on the left is Fon Davis.

 

That's from the deleted scene in AOTC where Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo-Koon fight their way up the ramp of a Trade Federation Core Ship to successfully deactive the Battle Droid army in the arena only to realize they are now equipped to each have their individual reserve batteries, making the mission a futile effort. In the movie you can seen them both getting escorted into the circle of survivors.

I wish this scene could have been completed. It looks like it could have been a great scene, plus more scenes inside the TF command bridge would have been welcome, i love that bridge.

So is this set cgi then for this scene? (That convo confused me)
I know one shot of Anakin walking up to Pal, was dones with GS..
From my eyes it looks real.. But my eyes are questionable..

Seems real to me, even the first part of the scene in that side room.

1. That makes sense I guess. I'll chalk it up to geonosis then.

2. In that picture we see a hooded figure falling sideways while holding something in his hands and I think the only candidate for that is Obi Wan being pulled by Jango on Kamino during their fight. Just as Obi's about to get his lightsaber Jango ropes his hands and pulls him and he flies sideways but it's a CGI Obi Wan at that point. So maybe this was them shooting the real thing to CGI later?

4. I've checked and rechecked and watched those scenes over and over again, I just can't seem to see any of those design cues in that picture in either of those scenes. Especially not in the ROTS Obi Wan scene which looks like this >

Alright so now we're down to 2 images, the blue screen top shot and the puzzling miniature shot. I identified that last image as the interior of the nightclub for sure.

 

Sorry for the multiple posts but I have an update. I'm currently uploading the images to my Dropbox and arranging them in folders like I have on my PC atm, so it's taking some time since it needs to be done manually. Once this is done I will also start uploading the compressed file for those who want to download it directly.

So my questions is should I make a new thread to post these 2 things? Maybe it would be better to have a new thread with an OP so that any future changes can be kept on the first page instead of getting lost in this thread. Also, people could find images I'm missing and link to them in that thread making it easier for me to update and track changes, right?

I will ofcourse link the uploads in this thread too.

What do you guys think?

It's annoying that when I'm signed in it allows me to navigate the folders with links to the parent folders but when I'm not logged in, which is how everyone would see it, there is no navigational capability other than having to manually open each folder in a new tab or go back every time.

Also, it loses the search functionality so you'll have to download the entire thing in the zipped format to which there is a link available on that page itself, and then use windows explorer to search the images.

So I think I'll have to create that new thread and add separate direct links to the folders and structure them properly in the OP. Will do that tomorrow, going to sleep now. Enjoy the link for now and tell me what you think guys!

some were recreated during pick ups using pics and measurements in ep 2 and 3. most shots used the sets but gl loved to add new bits and scenes. like he says on the commentary, the shot of anakin jogging back into palp's office during the fight is completely fake.
