I'm not super familiar with the non-televised EU, so I was wondering about how many of the things we've seen had their origins in print. I've only heard of two cases:

--Labyrinth of Evil (a novel) was adapted into "Chapter 22" through "Chapter 25" of the Clone Wars microseries. Since they needed to be published/televised at the same time as part of the promotion for Revenge of the Sith, the significantly longer process of making a cartoon necessitated the use of a very early draft of the novel, resulting in two markedly different stories that cover the same span of time.

--Slaves of the Republic (a story arc from the comics) was adapted in the "Kidnapped"/"Slaves of the Republic"/"Escape from Kadavo" story arc in season four of The Clone Wars. Since the comic arc was originally intended to occur during earlier seasons of the show, aspects of the story had to be changed to reflect the newer status quo.

Are those the only two? What about the older Droids and Ewoks programs? Were any of their episodes adapted from pre-existing materials?

Most of the EU didn't start until after Droids/Ewoks came and went.

He said "most". He's right. Judging from the franchise's timeline of released media, the amount of material released from 1977 to 1991 shrivels up and dies in comparison to the amount released between 1991 and 2005.

But let's not split hairs over this. Are the two stories I mentioned the only ones to get screen adaptations?

Well in the Republic 50 comic book is the battle of Kamino, with Shaak Ti, Anakin, Obi Wan, and an ARC trooper as the main characters. It seems like that was kind of adapted in ARC Troopers

You mean it was originally an arc for the show that got turned into a comic that then got adapted back into the show?

Yes, plenty of CW comics are based on ideas that were originally intended for the cartoon.

What they're saying is, it was planned as an arc for the show, but was instead made as a comic first, then re-adapted back to the show.
