Yeah poor kid, very disturbing dreams. I thought it would be interesting to throw a few more hints of his future in here And yep how sweet of our Count to be!!

Hey Master Yep yep poor Qui needs some TLC! I'm so happy that you are still enjoying it Though the end of this section of the story is soon here.



And speaking of which I'm working on the next part with Dr. Kel arriving and helping with the serum.


A big to whomever nominated this fic! I was so surprised that it even was *snrk* specially when this was one of those 'off the wall' quick-like fics hehehehe

Even though I am ending the story shortly, it will be somewhat continued based more off Dooku. The time hopping I'll be doing will coordinate with the fics I am co-authoring with my Master. This overall story will eventually end up around the RotS timeframe and a few surprises inbetween. Some of you already know that I planned on eventually working on a plot line that ends up with Dooku having a daughter so expect that shortly after this story is finished.

I should have the next chapter up by either Fri or Sat. Thanks soooo much for sticking around for it!!

I want to thank the readers who nominated this story, Dooku, and Jo for the FFWA I am still in shock!! Thank you so much! Gives me warm fuzzies to help carry through these brrrrrrr! days! Dunno about your all's weather... but lately it's barely been above freezing during the day and in the loooooow teens at night! Ug! I so hate the cold! hehehe

I'm juz about done with the next chapter! I sooooo apologize in not posting sooner. If all goes well by the end of the week it should be up. Juz doing a lil bit prior to Dr. Kel's and Han'yaie's working on the Serum.

Once again I apologize for the lateness. *Crosses fingers* Hopefully I'll have the next bit typed up w/in the next 2 days and post it late Fri or early Sat. Thanks soooooooooooo much for stinking around with me!!!!

 

I'm behind! I know! I'm sorry! But I am going to get caught up soon since all the cookies are baked, the presents are wrapped, and the children are locked in their rooms....Oops, wasn't supposed to say that last part.

Here's what I've done up so far. Of course the next post after this will most def have Han'yaie and Kel working on the serum. Sorry for the rushness if it sounds like it. Han?yaie was doing his last rounds of the evening before heading for bed himself, he had left Qui-Gon?s room for last.

Walking in the small room, he spotted the young man?s Master asleep. Dooku was leaning on the bed, head upon his arms, and his mouth slightly open.

The Chief Healer resisted the chuckle that nearly left him. It was a comical sight due to the small drool trail leading from the corner of the regal Jedi?s mouth to the robe?s sleeve that the man?s cheek laid on. Well at least he is sleeping finally, albeit not very well.

He quickly and quietly checked the Padawan?s situation and found it unchanged from the last time he had looked at the readings.

Right before he finished, the young man?s Master raised his head, wiping his mouth.

Han?yaie, back again?? Dooku asked as he stretched a little in the chair to work out some stiffening that had started at the middle of his back.

?One last check before I call it a night. It?s around midnight just so you know. Oh by the way, Dr. Kel commed me. He stated that his ship should arrive here at the Temple a little after 10 in the morning. Once he gets here I will get with him and we?ll prepare the serum.?

Dooku?s eyes lit up. ?Good, I?m glad to hear that.? The tall man?s dark orbs then looked over at his apprentice. ?How is he doing??

?No change which is great. But it looked like he might have had another lucid dream.? Han?yaie frowned.

?Yes he did, but I was able to draw him out of it easier than last time. He fell back to sleep afterward.? The Master looked up at the Healer.

?Well that is good news. Perhaps the worst is over?but what with Dr. Kel said it could be the calm before the storm.? The shorter Master entered some information on his datapad.

?I?ll come by in the morning.? Eyeing the sitting Master, the Healer raised his eyebrows. ?And you Master Dooku should get some sleep of your own.?

Dooku?s jaw set as he clenched his teeth, but after a second he nodded as a wave of weariness crashed through him. He had been overly concern for the young man and could not help but be worried. He could very well die?never to wake up again. Shuddering, he sighed.

?The room next to this one - your normal one - is open if you wish to use it. I figured you would want to stay near your Padawan so I kept it open.? Han?yaie smiled.

?Thank you?I will use it then.? The Master paused as he looked at his slumbering apprentice again.

?If I am not up?which I should be...? The taller Jedi stumbled over the words.

?I will come and get you.? The Healer finished for him. ?Now go, get some well needed rest.?

Dooku nodded absently as he reached over and gently caressed Qui-Gon?s check one last time.

Walking away from the room was hard. He wanted to remain by the young man?s side, but knew that if he didn?t get any restful sleep he wouldn?t be able to help Qui-Gon later. He will need support?especially if the serum doesn?t work?

His chest constricted painfully at that thought and his eyes slammed shut. Don?t think about it! Blast you Yan! He berated himself as he roughly closed the door behind him. He looked at the room that he was going to be sleeping in. It was for someone sick, not for accommodating a healthy person. There was a small sleep couch, a stand next to the bed for a Healer to place his or her?s medical supplies to work with.

 

OH noooooooo poor Qui slipped into a coma -- at least he can't have bad dreams there -- right?

Poor thing. he needs some TLC ..

 

Poor Qui, Poor Yan! You have just captured our count to a T for me here. Loved the little bit of drool, hehehe, Kyn and I could just see him so exhausted keeping an eye on little Qui that he would just completely pass out on that little bed.

But what a way to wake up! Poor poor Dooku and Qui Finding that Qui's aura was hazy and that this is the last stages

I'm glad you have some time off soon, I'm going to be bugging you to continue!!! Must know what happens with this serum

Doctor Jans Kel stood at the entrance to the Temple on the landing bay as his head tilted up and up while he followed the tallest of the spires with his eyes. So this is the famous Jedi Temple?

Within a few minutes the Chief Healer walked out onto the landing bay and spotted the Manyian admiring the Temple.

?Doctor Kel?? Han?yaie called out to the curious animal specialist.

?Ah Healer Han?yaie, well met! I had no idea that the Temple was so large!? His already large eyes widened further.

?Later on if you like I can arrange a tour of the areas that can be viewed.? The Chief Healer stated as he led the shorter man through the doors and then towards a lift that would take them to the Healer?s Ward.

?I would like that greatly!? The Doctor smiled.

?I have a lab set up for our work. Qui-Gon has gone into a coma?? Han?yaie said as he guided Doctor Kel to Qui-Gon?s room once the lift took them to the Ward?s level.

Dooku stood up upon the two men?s entrance. ?Doctor Kel.?

?Master Dooku?I want to apologize?I did not even realize?I??

Dooku raised his had with a wave, interrupting the stuttering Manyian. ?Enough Doctor, I understand and you are forgiven. Just find a cure for my apprentice.? The tall Master sighed as he looked back down to his slumbering Padawan.

?Thank you Master Dooku, it relieves me to know that.? The Manyian closed his eyes for a moment as calm replaced his earlier anxiety. He then walked closer to the young Padawan and looked him over.

?Yes?it appears that he has entered the last stage?we should go ahead and get to work.? He then looked up over at Han?yaie. ?Please, show me the lab.? The Doctor said as his face became serious.

?Follow me.? The Chief Healer led the doctor down the hall to the prepared laboratory.

The Manyian followed, after nodding to Dooku. ?We will find a compatible dosage.?

The tall Jedi sighed and sat back down next to Qui-Gon?s bed once more.

Doctor Kel took his knapsack off his shoulder and took out a large vial of liquid. ?Here is the antidote to go by, let?s see if we can convert it for human compatibility.?

For the next two hours the two worked through different theories and numerous formulas.

Han?yaie?s scowl deepened as no compatible matches seemed to work.

The Manyian sighed heavily and stepped away from the table that he was currently working on. ?I can?t think of anything else??

?We must keep trying. The young man?s life depends on it?? The Healer?s sighed rivaled the animal specialist?s.

?Yes, yes of course?I didn?t mean to sound so crude?? The Manyian bowed his head in shame.

Han?yaie laid a hand on the shorter being?s shoulder. ?I apologize?if time wasn?t so critical.?

Jans nodded and looked up into the Healer?s face. ?I understand?and I truly hope we can find it. I still feel bad for not mentioning earlier on about the sickness. I had truly thought that Jedi were immune to diseases and such like.? The Doctor?s shoulders slumped.

?Well then, let?s continue working.? Han?yaie smiled warmly down to the Manyian. He felt the animal specialist?s angst and knew it was genuine.

Dooku stared at his apprentice from the chair next to the bed. ?Soon?soon Padawan?? His voice caught as tears threatened to engulf him.

He was so deep in thought that he did not hear the familiar tapping coming up from behind him or even sense the old Master?s presence.

Master Yoda watched as he reached out with the Force. He could sense his old Padawan?s grief and worry, what bothered him the most was the falling of hope.

Dooku could not understand what was taking so long. He thought by now the two would have concocted the serum and had administered it to Qui-Gon.

Looking at his chrono, he saw that a little over four hours had passed. Getting up from his chair to go and search for the lab that the two were working out of, he nearly stumbl

 

Awwwwww yay they found a serum to cure him

 

Hey Paddy sis! You can just tell how much Dooku cares for him, and I was going right on that rollercoaster with him.

So glad that serum is working! There were so many obstacles including a very nervous healer! But Qui has not woken up yet!

Yep I took advantage of that information that the actress who played Madam Nu provided in one of the past SW Insider Magazines. The two (characters) had a thing for each other in the past.

I know in Legacy of the Jedi that Dooku or Qui didn't really care all that much for each other...but I would think there would have been some feelings. Maybe not a lot, but some. At least I'd hope! hehehe well anyways 'tis why they call this fanfic, right? hehehe

 

Here be the next bit. Hope it's up to par. Juz got tagged to be doing some major parts in upcoming reports for our base so I'm gonna be tied up the rest of Jan. So hopefully this is up to par wasn't able to finish editing it to it's fullest.

Several hours had gone by as the small room had been filled. Yoda, Jocasta, her Padawan, Kyran, Doctor Kel, Han?yaie, and Dooku waited anxiously for the young man to wake, but so far there had been no tell tale signs of such.

The Manyian had curled up on the other bed that was against the far wall, sleeping lightly.

Jocasta and Tahl were conversing quietly among themselves, as they would occasionally glance over at Qui-Gon or his Master.

Dooku had yet to leave his Padawan?s side. Dark brows furrowed and a scowl had permanently been fixed on his face for quite a while.

?Time will tell patience we must have.? Yoda said quietly at his old student?s left side.

?I know Master?but it has been hours now!? The slight rising of his voice startled the animal specialist and nearly caused the poor Manyian to fall off the sleep couch.

Han?yaie rushed over to prevent the man?s demise. ?Got you?? He chuckled as he helped the smaller man onto his feet.

?I didn?t mean to fall asleep, was just resting a bit. I hate to fly?and that trip did me in.? His big eyes looked worriedly from Qui-Gon?s resting form to the tall Master towering over the youth?s bed.

?He?s mad isn?t he? The serum helped, but it didn?t fully heal him?did it?? Doubt hung heavy in the specialist?s voice.

?Oh it cured him, but we won?t know if there are any residual affects until he wakes up.? Han?yaie sighed. He had felt the frustration in the air prior to the regal Jedi rising his mental shielding.

?He?s just sometimes impatient?especially when dealing with his Padawan.?

?Ahhh like a father for his child. How touching! It is good to know that Jedi aren?t as heartless as folks make them out to be.? Doctor Kel smiled, assured that things weren?t as bad as he had thought.

A moan brought everyone?s attention to the young man.

Dooku grasped Qui-Gon?s hand gently, ?Padawan?? Hope filled him as the youth?s head turned toward the voice.

Blue glazed eyes looked up into the older Jedi?s face. ?Master? Qui-Gon?s voice croaked out.

Jocasta and Tahl came over from the window that they had been standing by. Tahl smiled broadly at her friend's awakening.

?Padawan, you had me so worried?How are you feeling?? Dooku?s deep voice vibrated with his relief.

?Rough?feel like I?ve been run over by a speeder?? He smiled weakly as Han?yaie came to his side to check him over.

Reaching out, the Chief Healer laid his hand on the young man?s forehead and closed his eyes. Allowing the Force to flow through him and into Qui-Gon, he was able to discern that the sickness was gone from the body.

?It is gone?all of it.? A smile brightened the weary Healer?s face. The last few days had been tricky, but the apprentice?s danger was finally over. All they had left to do was analyze the outcome of the disease.

?I?m weak?no strength it seems.? A slight fear spiked through the Force aura around the youth.

Concern filtered through the training bond and Qui-Gon looked up into dark brown eyes with assurance. ?I?m fine Master. I?m sure it?s just one of the side affects.?

?Yes Qui-Gon it is. I wouldn?t doubt that it is caused by the fact your immune system had just been through a lot, as well as your mind. Those dreams were extremely vivid I?ve heard.? Han?yaie took his hand from the apprentice?s forehead and smiled down at him.

Doctor Kel was relieved as well. ?I?m so sorry Padawan Jinn. I had assumed Jedi were immune to the disease.? Hanging his head down a little in shame, the specialist shuffled his booted feet.

?It?s all right Doctor Kel. There are others that believe that as well. There are no hard feelings.? Qui-Gon?s blue eyes cleared and softened as he felt that the short man?s apology was genuine.

Yes, Dooku is relieved that his Padawan is awake. He did not like how he was feeling or how he was acting with Qui-Gon sick. The 'not knowing' was the hardest part. Thanks!!

Yes Master, he is awake and slowly recovering Nothing that a good meal, plenty of liquids and rest can help with. If he'd do all that he'd be back to norm almost.
