Rogue One Prequel Trilogy references in Rogue One

................... I never realized that. Well never gonna watch ROTS the same way again.

 

I thought the Tantive III (newcanon name for what used to be called the Sundered Heart in the EU) was slightly larger than the Tantive IV, not smaller - its engines look a bit bigger at least. The Databank only includes one size for all Alderaanian Cruisers.

Assuming the hammerhead modules are the same and it's the rest of the ship that includes the differences - is there a side-by-side comparison out there that shows sizes?

Which raises the question - where did the 126m figure from the Databank derive from? From the ROTS model, of from the TCW one?

So does it look closer to 1/3 length of ship, or does it look significantly shorter?

 

Tarkin being portrayed by someone whose name is not Peter Cushing is totally an homage to the end of ROTS!

 

AND they were on a Star Destroyer in that scene, and Tarkin's first scene in RO was in a Star Destroyer. Totally an homage.

 

One of the many cool things about Rogue One is that it's sort of like a Star Wars encyclopedia when it comes to homages.

I saw on the Special Features on the Blu-Ray that the prisoner transport vehicle on Wobani was first seen in Attack of the Clones.

Pretty neat!

 

It's actually a Turbo Tank, seen on Kashyyyk in ROTS, which isn't in AOTC.

 

We'll see about this...!

Have wondered whether the second digital matte is a close-up of part of the first, or at least closely based on it. Especially the tall shadowy building in the distance, which I believe is supposed to be called '500 Republica'.
