PT Prequel Trivia Tournament - Game 1

Hello and welcome to the Prequel Trivia Tournament hosted by me, Darth Chiznuk!​

Thanks to my predecessor GGrievous and Bazinga'd for allowing me continue this great game​

As you can see this is going to be a different game from previous incarnations so the new rules and format are explained below:​

GAME RULES

1. Use of Wookieepedia, Google, Bing, Yahoo, novels, DVDs, Blu-Rays, etc. is allowed
2. PM your answers to questions
3. DO NOT post answers in thread. If any answer is posted in thread it will be deleted and player will lose match
4. Questions must be answered by deadline. Any answer submitted after deadline will not be accepted nor will I accept any changes to your original answer after deadline

CONTESTANTS

There will be 16 players split into two groups of eight: the Jedi Knights and the Sith Lords. To sign up copy and paste the list found below into a new post and add your name to either side.

ROUNDS

The eight players from each side will be paired off into four matches. The four players from each group who win their first round matches will advance to the second round and are paired off into two matches each. The third round will consist of one match for each side and the winners of these matches will enter the fourth and final round.

QUESTIONS

All questions will be from the Prequel Trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith), behind the scenes extras, screenplays, novelizations or source books. Like the previous games, Question Days will alternate between Sunday and Wednesday. Answers and points will be given at 5PM CST. Once you’ve sent me your answer please post some variation of “Answer sent” in thread. If you wish to change your answer before the deadline do so in your original PM you sent me (only in rounds one, two and three). Be warned a changed answer will be your final answer.

Each round will consist of six questions. Three questions for the Jedi Knights and three for the Sith Lords. Each question will be worth 2 points and the player who answers the most questions correctly wins the match and advances. NOTE: Points WILL NOT transfer to your next match.

TIES

In the event a match ends in a tie the round will be extended to the next deadline and a bonus question will be posted. The players who tied will be asked to risk a certain amount of points. It will be up to you how much or how little you want to risk but you MUST PM me your decision. DO NOT post how many points you want to risk in thread. You will not know how much your competitor has risked until the results are posted by me. A correct answer will earn you the amount of points you risked while an incorrect answer will lose you the amount of points you risked. The player with the most points after this bonus question will be the winner.

I could but I'd like to give it more time since I don't have all the questions ready yet anyway. If I have to I could do six players for each side and some how figure out a fair way to give first round byes to two players from each side. I don't really want to do that though.

Alright it doesn't look like we're gonna get to 16 players anytime soon so we'll make do with 12. This means the Jedi Knights are all filled but there's still one spot left for the Sith Lords. Once that gets filled I'll reveal how we'll determine first round byes. Once that's finished we'll get going.

 

This bonus round will determine who receives the first round byes once the tournament starts. The format for this bonus round will be similar to last game with everyone against everyone. It will consist of three questions worth two points each and the two players from both teams with the highest point total will receive the first round byes. If there is any ties we will determine the winners in the same manner explained in the rules above.

Just to give everyone a heads up my work schedule is sort of crazy right now so on Wednesdays I won't be able to post the results and new question until about 9 PM CST. You'll have until then to send your answers. Sundays will be normal 5 PM.
