You guys think OWC will stop by again after the school year's over? I can't imagine what his total would have been had he stuck around past November!

clerk, I didn't even know you were in the Millennium Club... but congratulations anyway.

Now a few questions that I've had for nearly 1300 posts: Why did OWC go away? Does anyone know? Was it sudden or gradual? Is there a story about it that I don't know about?

 

The "story" is that jasman got rid of OWC because jasman wanted to have the most posts. That's just a rumor, of course.

If you want the real reason, I don't know.

 

I can't remember the actual date that OWC left, but, I do remeber missing his posts for a long time. But then I got over it when Jasman took his place. (if that is possible. )

Does anybody know what OWC's last post was?

I did a search on all his posts. There were two from 11-2-98, the day after he hit 1138. This one was at a later time. It might not be his last, though, because some threads have disappeared. If it really is his last post, then the thread is an important part of JC history.

 

Yep OWC left because he's been busy. He has a lot of stuff, he has to do. The few times I've talked to him on ICQ, he said he might return, and didn't know what he should say if he was going to post.

Seeing this old thread is like a mirror into the past. Some of us have stayed and become respected members and administrators, while others are gone and, in some cases, forgotten. It's kinda hard to believe that jasman's post count was ever behind anyone's, or that ObiWannaCracker was actually a frequent poster. Those were, indeed, the good ol' days. Man, as I recal, nobody posted as frequently as OWC. He just kept responding. Other people picked up the pace and did the same later on. I'd say LSD is the Hank Aaron to OWC's Babe Ruth. But just like with the Babe, OWC has an insurassable mystique. I'm going to go read "hello" now. <sniff>
