I'm bringing this up as a tribute to an old friend, gone but not forgotten.

I believe OWC hit 1000 posts about a week or two before he created this thread. He beat jasman to the 1000 mark by a few days I believe. Right, jasman?

 

I was just doing a little research and I found out that this is the oldest remaining thread in Miscellaneous(jc community).

All but 8 threads before this have been deleted, but those 8 threads are ones that were from this year.

Those threads are:

Well, I just looked at the old Hello #1000 thread of his and he got 1000 on 10-27-98. Back then I only had about 100 posts. Like, chewbacco said there wasn't very many threads back then. Most of us were in the range of 100-500 posts while jasman and OWC went to town.

As jasman mentioned in a really old thread that is now deleted, I needed only 6 posts to get to 1138, before I was banned back when I was Qui Gonn With The Wind2.0. I thought that was pretty weird.

Ok, so that OWC's legacy may be seen by the newer members, I will lift this once more.

Why do we let gems like this one slip to page 10??? Now THIS was the true Golden Age of JCN, never since has it been paralleled.

BTW, did he ever show back up ? I noticed the name Padawanna cracker is awfully close to OWC... Did OWC change his name to PWC ?

 

Its not the posts that counts, I'll tell you that. But Kyle was right. That was really a great age. It was an age of great Misc. Threads (Stuff Sucks, Name Game(s), REAL chat threads) and good and inquisitive threads in the other great forums. It was a time when the Prequels *shudder* forum was regarded with distaste and no self-respecting member would go there unless he (I use 'he' because it used to be a guys only kinda club in the abscence of those of the female persuasion) was an admin and went to stir up trouble. And I was there to usher it from gold to silver to bronze and see it fall to dirt at the hands of the massive influx of Prequel fans, I won't mention who though, and then things just became so impersonal and ugghh.

Ahhh.... Glorious day. MNF's just sore cos he weren't there to see it. Bugger that, I say.

OWC was truly one of the greatest posters we've ever had. Fan-fictions were created in his honor. He was that good and then some. And you know what was the best part about it? I was there and I can say that I was. And it was a great day for the Council too.

So, you can take whatever doubts about what you have for the TRUE GOLDEN AGE OF THE JC.N and shove it to where the sun doesn't shine and leave us oldbies with our memories....

Now, if we could just turn back to the most high, most auspicious and most august number of 1138.
