Private Messages being pruned SOMETIME BEFORE ARMAGEDDON (probably)

Why do you assume there will be a way for us to manually delete our own PMs? I don't see anything in this thread from zerosleep that suggests that we will be able to do that.

 

oh, thought I saw somewheres where zerosleep was going to program it so individuals could also delete their PMs before auto pruning wipes them out, but I could be mistaken, or misunderstood.... anyways, it's something to hope for future implementation.

edit. I found the reference; it's in the board update thread.

Zerosleep is also adding a feature which will allow users to delete their own PMs manually.

Stupid MSU, cramping my style. Anyway, no one mentioned that in HERE.

 

You WILL be able to delete/save your own PMs. However, I still need to prune the current tables to a year's worth only because I need the extra db space to store 2 copies of every PM and any that are marked as "saved".

So, for the next week. Backup offline any pms you need to save that are older than a year.

Not ETA at the moment, having problems with exporting PMs to the new database tables.

Thank you for planning to add that "Save PMs" feature. That will help a lot when it comes to pruning the PMs from last year Feb, March, etc.

Copy and paste to any text-editing program. Notepad, Word, etc.

And you didn't miss the deadline, zerosleep extended it in the post right above yours.

I think I'm the only one actually looking forward to PMs being pruned and thus a bit startled to see it delayed another week.... I'm weird....

I've been going over my old PMs but there's nothing in there I'm bothered about saving. It's all just a bunch of nostalgia more than anything.

But I do have over 250 pages of them...

I like the idea of being able to delete them myself like unwanted e-mail Is this for definite?

Y'all should know better than to expect things to happen exactly when the JC says it will. Punctuality obviously isn't a treasured trait around these parts.

 

I think some PMs have started to be pruned cause I was looking for an OLD PM from last year and went back a few too many pages and noticed I only had like about 40 pages of read PMs when I used to have over 70 pages.
