See, I can get it to have the right pitch, tone, and go along with the lip movements. But...it still sounds like a guy talking into a microphone, and not someone in a room. I've even tried echoing and slight reverbs, but no matter what, it still sounds like the voice is coming from everywhere rather than twelve feet away from the camera. Help?

If it matters, I use Adobe Audition (AKA Cool Edit Pro).

Hold the mic farther away from you?

I assumed that would be inconsequential. I hope I didn't just make an ass of myself. *Tests*

If the mic has good range, set it up someplace. Let's say that that's where the camera was. Then, stand where the person was talknig on film- be it five feet for twenty. Then say the line. You may have to say it slightly louder, or boost the volume.

I think that'd work. Admittedly, i've never tried it. Also, try slightly decreasing one of the audio channels- if it's 100 and 80 percent, it'll sound like it's coming from the direction of 80, if that person is off to the side of a screen.
