    Hi guys,

I need to record lines for stormtroopers. Typical "Halt", and "Send down 2 squads" type of stuff.

What effects should I use to get that 'commlink' style effect?

I'm not much of a sound guy, so dummy this up for me.

    Swear t'God . . . use a telephone.

There's a feature on that one on www.starwarsfanworks.com. It's under Cost-Cutting Methods and Tips in the Features section.

I think it's called "The Poor Man's Trooper."

The option (if you have audio software that supports this feature) is to use a bandpass filter.

The Bandpath filter worked well for the effect. I used it for 'Infiltration'

Too bad that I had 2,500 hits in 3 hours and went WAAAAY over my allocated bandwidth.

It look like I might be down until Nov 1st. Bad news for me because I'll loose all the exposure from the CGChannel news story.

The Bandpass Filter is the way to go. You want to narrow the frequency - up the mid levels, and bring down the highs & lows.
