London, ON Promotion Idea

I finish work at 3:30 now, so I'm good, and I can always try to get off early. I work 2 blocks from Dundas and Richmond.

 

We should meet at the galeria 3:30 ish then. Centre court in front of the library. I'll need help with my costume.

 

Sounds good. I'll probably show up in costume at 3:30. I'll also bring plenty of handouts and posters.

Here's what I have as places to visit on March 6. I've organized it into geographical areas, starting with Galleria, since that's where we'll be meeting. Let me know if I've left anyone out, or if there's any places we should leave off visiting. BTW I've already OK'ed a visit with my friend Tracy at London Public Library. I thought it would look good to walk through there in costume as we deliver the posters to her in the Children's Library (she'll make sure the posters go to the rest of the branches). I'm sure there will be plenty of on-lookers.

It looks like you have The Comic Book Collector & Neo Tokyo as the same store in the list. They are 2 separately owned stores. Other than that it looks like a plan. I there only going to be the 3 of us going?

I've sent an e-mail off to Phil at "The Londoner" They'll run an events add for us.

Unfortunately I can't make it. I've got pneumonia, and walking around makes it almost impossible to breath. I'll be there in spirit.

Well if Rabellaka is not going can we bumb this up to 3:00 PM and meet in front of the movie theater the Rainbow.

It was a productive afternoon. We went through Downtown and Old East London. We'll have to head out again next week to hit the rest. We were definitely noticed wherever we went. There weren't many people out downtown at that time, but we gave out a few flyers on the street to passers by. We were a definite hit at City Lights Bookstore and Commander Salamander, both of whom were so excited to see us in costume.

There were a couple places we went to where the decision-maker wasn't in (Heroes and Rainbow), so we left information for them. Most places said they'd donate something. City Lights gave us some gift certificates on the spot. Everyone likes the poster.

We also made arrangements with L.A. Mood and Comic Book Collector for them to give out our handouts on Free Comic Book Day. They both said they get 500 people.

Since we've now officially kicked off our poster campaign, we should all be looking for other places to put up the poster over the next few weeks. I'm not sure how many we have left from today, but I'll get some more printed up and take them to the Garrison on Sunday.
