OW THAT TIE FIGHTER IS LOUD

The visuals look quite SW-y, but that helmet is odd. If this is supposed to take place only a couple months prior to ANH, it's a bit odd that such troopers would appear nowhere in the OT

Personally, I don't have much of an interest in the spinoffs, but I'll likely still see them in theatres at least once

 

I love that helmet. Looks like a cross between a stormtrooper helmet, Darth Vader's helmet and a goat skull.

I'm not against seeing specialized troops in Rogue One, that don't show up in the OT. We didn't see Biker Scouts til ROTJ, but, that doesn't mean they weren't around durin the time of ANH and ESB.

I do have issue with the Vaderish look though. We now have two movies where it seems they work hard to find a way to visually incorporate Vader into it. Enough, leave Vader be! His look was distinctive to him. Let Kylo Ren and the stormies find their own look.

 

That helmet has only a hint of Vader, IMO, so there's no issue there. And mostly just because it's black. The important thing is that it is fresh and new, while looking like it fully belongs to that time period. I especially like the elongated snout, which gives it that goat skull look. Perhaps a little reminiscent of Grievous.

My guess is that these are Special Ops units of sorts. Perhaps the more "precise" kind of troopers that took out the Sandcrawler, and killed Owen and Beru.

Whoever they are, I like the look a lot.

 

Looks great. I see it as a cross between a stromtrooper helmet & that of a TFA snowtrooper. I think the Vader comparison is just in the color.

 

I'm pretty sure the location in the background is Iceland, as they definitely shot a lot of footage there. Looks great. I wonder if it could be Sullust?

 

Is Sullust rumored to appear?

What time will GMA be on?

 

No rumors about Sullust, but it's become a significant planet in new ancillary material (such as Battlefront), so I could see them going there. Could also just be...someplace else.

I think GMA is 8am EST?
