Well, it's taken a long time to create the Prequel Trilogy art, but I'm at 96% complete and will post it by Monday, as I'm putting the finishing touches on the final design.

The full size is 4556 x 2444 or 47inches by 25 inches. The image is almost 32MB in size.

I will post a smaller version on here so you'll see what it looks like.

I really like the design, but Grievous should be over near Episode 3.

I know, it's a really minor nitpick, but it would fit more to me.

It was like how they did posters for the OT, and the Emperor was for ESB, and the ESB Luke/Vader duel was over in ROTJ.

    Apart from that, they're great!

The choice to put the shot of a "concerned" Palpatine over the titular clone army and Republic fleet is inspired! Bravo!^:)^

I just upgraded my Photobucket account, so if you go to the link, you'll see a bigger version.

I will see what I can do with General Grevious, thank you for the advice.

A little more clearer, but still less than half the actual image size.

I and II definitely have no spoken lines - and II 100% sure, cause I've seen those a lot of times :)

OT menus do have spoken lines here and there, most annoyingly "you need to be more careful", though not sure how many of them.
DVD menu design was invented for I and peaked at II imo, the rest came off a bit phoned in.

Does it bother anyone else that the roman numerals on the Episode III DVD are skinnier than they are on the rest of the DVDs?

Also, does anyone happen to have the Episode III VHS? If so, could you post images of both spines (for example, one TPM spine had the 2 Jedi and the other had Darth Maul)? I'd really appreciate it since it never released in the US so I never got to complete my VHS collection.

Ah, yes I own all three prequal DVD's and quite like them. Not only do I like the box art but also just the amount of bonus features packed in each. I mean seriously they seem to want make sure the viewers wouldn't get bored of their DVD's. I particularly enjoy the longer features (like TPM's In The Beginning) or the detailed web docs. I only wish AOTC had its own long feature like TPM and ROTS.

Even the roman numerals can't help but get "Hollywood Thin".

    Anakin is on 5 covers
    ObiWan is on 4 covers
Yoda and Padme tied with 3
Palpatine and Luke are tied with 2

And folks love to say Han is a star of Star Wars lol

I really think the PT DVD sets are probably some of the best ever and I miss when DVD's got that special treatment. The PT sets had it all nice artwork both on the cover and discs, great dvd menus, awesome special features but I agree both AOTC/ROTS deserved a long behind the scenes doc that TPM got. Seriously when I think about it I can't think of any DVD I ever bought that ever competed with the quality of the PT sets.

It's just a shame that when TFA is released on home video it will probably be a single disc dvd with no special features. Yes I still use DVD lol I know I'm ancient.

I have fond memories of putting the ROTS disc back in several times until I got the Mustafar themed menu. The strong reds have always stuck out to me in a most bizarre way

I also seem to recall the AOTC DVD had a menu theme based on the chase through Coruscant. Ah, the good old days as a child where I shot sticky darts from my nerf gun at the TV....

The Phantom Menace has to be one of the 10 best DVDs ever released (although the video transfer hasn't aged well). Can't comment on Attack of the Clones since I only had that one on video, but I didn't think Revenge of the Sith's extras were quite as good.

While I know many bemoaned the Saga blu-ray set for not carrying over any of the DVD materials, I'm sort of glad they didn't. Makes my DVDs still shelfworthy and makes the bonus discs still well worth playing every so often. And to be honest, even if they DID carry over materials to the blu-ray they would not have carried over everything and some of the stuff would remain in SD.

One thing that always annoyed me was how the full screen OT set was in gold whole the widescreen OT set was in silver, making a gold/silver division on the shelf. Meanwhile, losers with the full screen sets had an all god shelf. Thankfully, they went gold with the standalone rereleases and yes, I bought all three simply for this fact. The laserdisc theatrical versions were a decent bonus. I know they are not what people wanted, but I throw them on from time to time, zoom it in, and check out some of the pre-SE scenes just for kicks.

Can't even begin to understand why they would go with a mediocre photoshop artwork when they have amazing Drew Struzan art for the 6 films.

The UK got a DVD re-release this year with Drew Struzan's poster art for each movie (see here).

VHS releases back in the day didn't always feature original poster art. In the case of TPM they went with a simple photo montage that carried over to the DVD. From there, they stuck with that format for all the films. In my opinion, the TPM and AOTC covers are actually really well done. It was the later ROTS and OT covers where the montage work declined and started to get too busy and messy.
