Ot but dang I wish 3PO would have ended up with Finn and co too. He needs something to do.

 

We know little about Maz's role in all of this.
But it looks like it's her that suggests to reach DJ.
And I think BB8 is somehow "essential" to whatever DJ may provide them.
It looks like he is with them on the Supremacy too.

 

I think Maz is their contact on Canto Bight, and they meet her in the casino. There’s that image of Finn happily pointing towards something as they enter, probably Maz. I don’t see how the Casino fits into the story otherwise. Then their cover gets blown in there (by Hux??), leading to an action scene leading to the chase scene. Maybe they end up captured (we saw them in a cell) and meet DJ in the prison. They escape with him in his ship.

 

I've frankly given up trying to piece where and when certain things transpire.

For example the bit with BB-8, Poe and the X-Wing and if KR supposedly blows it to hell. If so, why is BB-8 there when we've got a pic of him in Canto Bight and on the Supremacy supposedly being chased by BB-9E.

Also, I like to think Luke shows up on Crait in his first costume, those full Jedi garbs whilst wearing that glove like in those pictures. Together, he and Rey tear up those AT-M6's, signaling the rise of the New Jedi. Frankly, that or some kind of NR reinforcements is the only way I see them pulling out a win of some kind and restoring Luke's badass image. Otherwise I don't know how the good guys'll walk away from this aside from a done-to-death escape on the MF. I don't see those Ski-Speeders helping much.

And I figure it'll be after that, we see Finn with a haircut in Resistance/NR pilot gear.

Final-Final Bit; Obviously it'll reflect that there's some hope to be found for going into IX regardless of what happens, with even RotS and ESB ending on a hopeful tone.

It helps to know that we've got 2 hours and 30 minutes, give or take, to see how TLJ 'won't go the way we think.' By that reasoning, we've seen mostly small portions of action scenes and only a hint of what Rey/Luke's relationship will be. Plus we haven't seen hide nor hair of Holdo in any foogtage. SW is used to sell stuff to kids, Luke can't turn out TOO bad.

Plus let's not forget that they're not above cutting things out. Case in point, RO.

 

But the movie has been finished for a while now, I doubt that would show (more or less the same) clips in the TV spots if they are not in the actual finished product.

I think that Rey will join Kylo for a time and meet Snoke after A) Luke declines training her and B) Rey believes that Snoke has answers about her parents and C) she has a vision with Luke that he may have killed her parents. Then Rey will go and have a bad experience with Snoke but escape and then head to the final Crait battle.

 

With the recent revelation that Holdo commands her own ship I wonder whether she will make the escape to Hyperspace whilst the Raddus burns?

 

So what exactly is the story of TLJ? Already people have been piecing together all that is known.....


- Movie opens with evacuation of D'Qar base and subsequent huge space battle which the FO wins.
- Rose loses her sister in the battle
- Rey and Luke's meeting on Ach-To is explored
- Movie then dwells on Kylo and Snoke's teachings
- Then moves to Leia and that aspect of the Resistance as they scramble together and devise a next move
- Finn wakes up and is given a mission to Canto Bight, this is where Rose becomes an accidental hero and tags along
- There's a whole sequence on Canto Bight, espionage Bond-style under the backdrop of an affluent society
- The mission goes awry as Benicio Del Toro's character back-stabs Finn and Rose
- The FO under Captain Phasma lead an assault, and it's when we probably see all those explosions and Finn and Phasma facing off


From there there's a lot missing, much time goes by. Supposedly the FO also arrives on Ach-To and causes Chewy, Rey and Luke to flee. But ultimately the resistance moves their base to Crait, and Rey makes her way there as now a Jedi, to help her friends, who are in danger, because the FO has intercepted intel, discovered the new base, a huge attack is made there. Perhaps again the FO wins that one, with yet another evacuation, and possibly this is when Kylo ponders pulling the trigger on Leia. Rey is likely captured on Crait, possibly after a battle with Kylo, and taken before Snoke. And then more missing story from here on. With rumors like Luke coming to Rey's rescue, and a face-to-face meeting with Snoke and some huge reveal, and/or Kylo and Rey teaming up, and/or some lightsaber battle between four combatants in the one scene, like Luke, Rey, Snoke, Kylo. Basically the movie perhaps culminates here on Snoke's command vessel, with a cliff-hanger and/or shock reveal.

From all the different sources I've read, the finale boils down to this. As for the "huge reveal", two different camps are emerging:

• Rey joins with Snoke, after believing Luke killed her parents. Kylo, now as Ben Solo, reunites with his Uncle Luke to stop her and Snoke. In other words, the hero and villain switch roles. Judging from all the snippets, this might be quite likely.

Or, the second 'rumour'

• Snoke and Luke were actually in league with each other all along, believing order was needed to stop the galaxy from falling into civil war again. In other words, Luke is the real villain. This, although an exciting twist, would need a ton of explanation. And, oh boy, this place would go into a meltdown far greater than TFA if Luke was evil. You'd certainly open a lucrative door for comics, games, books, etc explaining his turn to the dark side and why he turned away from the Jedi.

 

I don't mean to be condescending but quite a bit of that synopsis is either wrong or in the wrong order.

Didn't Mark Hamill want Luje to turn to the dark side and join his father in ROTJ?

Perhaps Disney granted that too?

 

Luke is not able to manage this. The force ghost Yoda will do it for him.

I think that she actually goes to Snoke. But Rey-Kylo on Ahch-to may be a vision. Others may have different ideas.
