    I think you might be taking the analogy a little too far there.

    Having a strong purpose/endgame and thinking 12 moves ahead with contingencies for all counter move permutations versus reactive tactical interventions.

    America is hopelessly myopic compared to Russia.

    Yeah, none of us are disagreeing that America is pretty bad with foreign policy and that they are "playing checkers". I'm saying that Putin isn't much better, given that he's driven two Nordic countries closer to NATO and suddenly made Poland a player in the region (military cooperation with Sweden and drawing closer to Ukraine) all in the name of trying to secure Russia's sphere of influence.

    Really, it's all Peter O'Toole's fault for beating up all the Turks. None of this would've happened if he would have said no to Allenby. It's telling that both he and Omar Sharif are no longer around to see the chaos they have created.

    Shortcomings would imply that some part of our "cousins" Syria plan worked. Ultimately though, they should feel no shame whatsoever in being schooled by a shirtless man who rides eagles, and has the voice of an angel.
