I got picked to march in the Rose Parade. I got picked to march in the Rose Parade. I got my letter in the mail today. It's all official, Lucasfilm Letterhead and all. I have to sign some waviers and then send it back before the 17th.

Yippie!

 

Oh my gosh, that is awesome! Congrats! Are you going to save the letter?

 

Well some people said they would frame their's, but I'll probably just keep it in a photo album or something.

The bad side is that I will probably not go home for Christmas this year. My family is going to be upset. At least they can now watch me on TV.

 

Oh my gosh, that is so cool!!! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations SR!! It's a bummer that this might stop you from going home at Christmas. That's a huge down side. Hopefully your family will understand what an opportunity this is and support you. I can't tell you how excited I am for you!!

On a side note, I won a $30 gift certificate from one of my podcasts. I need help picking something though. It's at Battlestar Online. I'm leaning towards a t-shirt because I love t-shirts but I have so darned many but none of the toys interest me except for the bust.

Maybe the "Official Companion" books? Those can serve as memorable souvenirs.

JR, you can be my friend. You don't even have to give me things. I'll even let you touch the armor after I walked five miles in it.

One bad thing is that I'm going to have to bunk with strangers. At least three of them. It's dorm room college style. I don't know how we are going to arrange this. I know some of the guys, but not all of them.

 

I never watch the Rose Parade anymore...but, I will this year!

 

I will be watching, too. I think I'll still be in Minnesota for winter break at that time. But my family will think it's so cool that someone from my "Star Wars club" (as they call it ) is in the parade.

 

I really have to thank DB for all this though. I was just sitting at home one Saturday when the phone rang and it was him asking me if I had some money to buy a Stormtrooper costume. I thought "no, not really, but it would be cool". So here I am a year later. Good thing I listened to DB.

 

Congratulations SR!!! Fabulous news! Will definitely be seeing the Parade in person!

SR - are you going to post this good news on LU.N?

On a side note, won't be around this weekend (as if any of us are) but I'm going on a cruise to mexico today until monday. Tata!
