It order to be the Queen do you have to be from a royal family. I'm tring to piece together what happened in the Black Fleet Crisis. if any one have any view it would help. I look this time and could find nothing on the board about the BFC trilogy.

The Black Fleet Crisis thing about Luke's mother was all a scam to coax him along.

Not really, since Queen Amidala was elected to her position and didn't receive it via heridity.

Amidala came from a rural farming family.

King Veruna had ruled Naboo up until just before TPM. After his death, Amidala won an electronic global election in just 4 minutes.

There will be more political stuff in AotC.

Naboo has an odd political system. Their "queens" and "kings" are elected democratically.

Most logical explination would be, that they keept the "royal" or noble titles for democratic positions, when Naboo changed from a monarchy or whatever system they had to a democracy.

Georg W. Bush, elected king of the United States for four years.
