What was his beef with Padme?

 

He's mad because she cost him his invasion of Naboo.

 

Nute's nephew's name is Paulo who was dating our young elaborately dressed little woman, but then she cheated on him with a young greedo.

 

Because she did not wanted to sign, and at the end gunray was captured by her, and he has spend four years behind bars. Her fault. That's why he want her death.

 

Nute didn't go to jail. He remained the viceroy of the Trade Federation, as Sio Bibble says in AotC.

Yeah, that part always makes me laugh. He probably either bribed his way to freedom, or got off on some legal loop-hole. Not to mention the fact that Palpatine may have pulled some strings behind the scenes.

Or perhaps the reason he got through it was because he is Nute Gunray and Nute Gunray is awesome.

^yes, that's true, but that wasn't really padme's fault. I think that the major fact is that she captures him at the end of TPM.

 

Nute didnt get punished because, well, he didnt do anything illegal.

But then why didn't the Jedi noticed that something is wrong when a trade federation suddenly attacks a planet?
