Question about offensive language

I'm assuming swearing is not allowed here since I've seen some use "****" where they would normally swear.

If I were to use the word "phukk" instead of the F word, would that get me in trouble?

ShapelessPriest, your best bet if you have a question regarding what is forbidden on language in the forums is to hit the Communications Forum Thread on Verboten Words. That, and the TOS, which is in the bar at the top of every page.

Keep in mind that it is not just words, but some abbreviations are also veboten (like WT*). That is covered in the Comms thread.

It's really not advisable to try and use words that sound like a swear in order to circumvent the guidelines. Using astericks to mask a swear is fine, or just use another word that isn't going to be questionable.

 

Take Katya Jades advice, and just keep in mind... it is the weak-minded that must resort to cursing to make a point.

Well, my personal opinion is not to use them at all...unless refering to something a certain way...like a donkey as an ass. but besides that, I leave it out. Nothing good from it can come from using those words, especially as insults, which is against the TOS (IE. Flameing) Just try and steer clear from using words you wouldent want your own children to learn. Thats how I do it.
