I'm just getting into the whole widescreen DVD concept. Before, I was annoyed at the black bars taking up your screen and everything, but I now see the advantages you get and I have a widescreen TV now so I'm cool with widescreen.

Anyway, I was watching AOTC on CBC a few weeks ago, and it was a widescreen version. I had previously only watched the AOTC VHS at home so hadn't seen the widescreen version since the theaters. During the Jedi Council scene, I actually saw Even Piell and Oppo Rancisis, two guys I'd never seen in that movie before, and I was like "Man, widescreen rocks!".

So, I was wondering about the scene where all the Jedi are turning on their lightsabers. In the VHS, we first see Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon turn on their blue lightsabers, and some green-lightsaber-wielder off to the side whose identity I had never figured out. I didn't get to see the rest of the widescreen one on TV because I went out to see ROTS.

So, do you see that Jedi's face in the widescreen version, and if so, who is it?

Yeah, I know that, but he was like killing Jedi in the catacombs wasn't he? Noone survived to tell the tale, and he didn't go public until Hypori.

Just checked the DVD. It looks like Coleman Trebor's hand, but you don't see him turn on his lightsaber until a few shots later. Interesting.

That's gotta be Trebor. Same hand, same sleeve, same lightsaber. I think we've just found a blooper!

-As Jack Sparrow says...if there are no survivors....who was the one to start the tale.. [face_thinking] :p

Where did you people get the info that Greivous was in AOTC? I watched that movie a million times and never saw him, is this some EU crap?

hmmmmm, so I guess that's a big "no" to my question. No big deal. I agree, though, that definitely looks like a Vurk hand.

And yeah, the Grievous stuff is EU, but it's not crap. It's from Labyrinth of Evil, which explains the Sifo-Dyas stuff, so that has to count for something. Don't listen to it if you don't want to. Whiteeagle mentioned an EU topic, I elaborated on it. Let's move on.

Yes, that's true about General Grievous. Didn't his construction begin a little after TPM and then finish a little after AOTC?
