At the end of the movie when Dooku gets the plans to the OMG!!! the death star i was like WOW but then i realized something.

the death star was the idea of TARKIN! it was built and designed in the maw instillation. So why do we see its plans now? when it hasnt even been thought of yet? or is this lucas' way of removing the EU from the "official" storyline

sorry to be a fanboy. the movie rocked but things like that bother me. oh and if i am wrong on this then please let me know.

For final clarification from an avid SW Booknut, The Death Star Project was RUN by Tarkin and his female deputy...her name I cant remember without my chronology. The original designer was Bevel Lemelisk, a humanoid who failed the Emperor several times in Production and was put to death over and over and over but recloned afterwards to finish the project. The prototype was built in the Maw. The actual first Death Star was built on a small moon in the Outer Rim with a construction crew ran by Darth Vader and the crew consisted of Wookie Slaves...

    Darn I'm good :)

Oh Yeah. I remember him. That was the guy that kept getting feed to those beetle things. Maybe he was working under Dooku sort of somewhere and when and once the plans were complete Dooku would then take them to show Palpatine and then would be made whenever. That is one way to look at it I guess. Either something like that, or Lucas is telling us that he does not give a darn about the books when he writes the movies. He probably is not even aware of the guy. I guess from know on we have to just take the books for what they are and not think about these sort of things. Just read them and have fun with them. Its hard but if you are into the books that's what you have to do because there will probably be a lot more of these sorts of things. Remember how Obi Wan told Luke that Uncle Owen was his brother? Know in the movie we see that he in fact was Luke's uncle or step uncle. Then there of course is the whole Boba Fett not dying in ROTJ. There is probably all sorts of stuff that got screwed with between Ep.1 / Ep.2 and the books.

I too enjoy many of the EU books. However there are not Canon and no confusion should be made with the movies. While I wish there wasn?t contradictions I have no problem with separation of two Star Wars Galaxies. I thought the Death Star Revelation was important and might be an important plot point to E3.

My first reaction is to say that this movie rocked!

it doesnt even matter. the extended universe has nothing to do with lucas' vision thus making it pointless to compare it with the films.
