I am in Augusta, and will be moving to Atlanta within the next month. I am looking to see if anyone knows of the best areas for a family to live, and if you can give me some advice on my move.
I have a 14 year old (high school), and a 2 year old, so I am looking for something that has good schools, close to Atlanta, but not in Atlanta, and is not too expensive.
Any advice on where to look to rent, the best areas for kids, etc, would be a huge help!
Looking forward to meeting y'all soon!

    Thanks,
    Jess

Well, for schools: Cobb County (preferably East Cobb, if you can afford it)

Cobb county has the best high schools in the state, and we happen to live within the districts for: one of the top five elementary schools, the best middle school, and second best high school in Georgia.

Not sure what you are looking at for a budget, which will really dictate where you are able to live. There are houses for rent around here, and most seem to be in the $1100 - 1800/month range.

Gwinnett county also has some good schools, as do some of the cities in North Fulton (like Alpharetta and Roswell).
