Personally, I can't see how she can...

GL has gone on record as saying that Ep III takes place "a couple of years" after Ep II.

So, from this we can gather that even if Anakin and Padme concieve on the wedding night, Luke and Leia will be, at most, 1.5 years old +/- 0.5 years.

To me, this seems a little young to have actual, coherent memories of your mother. Even if you have some latent, unknown Force abilities. Leia remembers her mother in RotJ: "She was very beautiful. Kind, but...sad." It would seem to follow that 1.5-2 years old would be a bit young to be able to determine those types of emotional subtleties. So they would have to be older in order for Padme to die, and the timeline doesn't allow for that...

    Unless... :D

It is quite possible that GL will do a "fast-forward" during the movie, in which a signifigant portion of time will pass instantaneously (probably after the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight) so that we can see Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader. At this point he could decide to kill off Padme on-screen, perhaps as a final step on the Dark Path for Anakin.

    What do YOU think?

May the Force be with you all,

    Indy
