    Hi,
I am interested in reading some of the Star Wars literature, and I am looking to start in the Old republic era or earlier. From my searches online, it seems that there are many books that are poorly written and are not worth the effort to read. Can you suggest a list in order of the books that are decently written?

    Thanks!

Fatal Alliance, from what I've heard. However, the first book of importance on the Star Wars timeline is Darth Plagueis (backstory of Palpatine, explains what the Sith were doing for 1000 years, and conects the Old Republic era to the movie era).

Read Star Wars Dawn of the Jedi (the book). It has comics too, but the book is really good.
