I have a couple of questions about darth vader in episode 3
    1) if darth vader was screaming on the operating table at the end of episode 3, why did he need a voice changer. In episode 6 his voice was weak which could make sense.
    2) if darth vader needed the mask to breathe, why was he breathing normally on the papers ting table and on mustafsr after he survived being burned down

#1- His vocal chords were damaged, yes, but he could still scream. The implants and devices in the mask allowed him to speak with a more baritone gusto as his normal speech was a strained whisper.

#2- He was using the Dark Side and his own iron will to keep himself alive on Mustafar, but had Palpatine not gotten there he would've succumbed sooner or later. During the operation, I believe the air was pressurized/mixed with the right quantity of air for him to breathe.

He has a mask (which muffles his voice), not a voice changer.

There was nothing normal about a man being burned by lava and being alive. He was not breathing normally, and required special apparatus to keep him alive (be it for clean air and everything else).

Vader's voice is much louder in his mask though.

The helmet created Vader's menacing growl due to his natural voice being very weak from vocal-cord damage.

Makes sense that amplifiers, synthesisers, etc would be involved.

Maybe he's like Stephen Hawking - but instead of having to type the words in, all he has to do is move his lips, and the armor will read his lips and repeat Vader's words in a much louder, clearer, deeper pitch.
