Guess who was at my 24 Hour Fitness last night working out... Doogie Howser. Poor Neil will forever be refered to as Doogie. I wanted to say that I just caught a rerun of his funny movie Undercover Brother the other day, but didn't. I wanted to walk up and hold my fist in the air and say "Solid".

There are other small time actors there too sometimes but I don't know all their names.

SR, NPH was hilarious in Harold and Kumar, though I'd like to think it was out of character. That's cool that you see some actors around.

so, since I have to work today, (MLK day) does that mean the owners of my company are racist?

So here I am, posting on the boards while my roomba vacuums. Life is good.

Plus, I don't have to work today, except for the loads of laundry I have to finish. :_|

Yeah I have a complaint. I was typing a message to DH about Battlestar Galactica when some unnamed person we shall dub Bubba locked the thread.

A roomba is a vaccuum that does its thing without you pushing it around. Just let it loose and it will suck up everything.

I woke up late this morning having a nightmare. I was being strangled by a large snake. I couldn't move, breathe, or yell for help. It made me sick.

That's awful, SR! My snakes would apologize if they could...

My complaint: I've had sinus pain (bearable) for the past few weeks, so I should have known this was coming, but now I have full-blown sinusitis. Haven't had it in 6 years, but it causes horrible pain in the face right below the eyes. I have to keep putting warm cloths on my face. I'm taking Advil and going back to bed to lie in the dark soon. Unfortunately antibiotics just increase the chance of a worse attack. :(

It was I who locked the TV thread.

I keep having this recurring nightmare that I sold my nice, fully operational townhouse in beautiful Pasadena (which now has a Tiffany & Co. and soon will have a Ruth's Chris) and bought an old fixer-upper house with bad plumbing in far away boring Whittier (which has nothing nice).

That's a terrible nightmare. I wouldn't wake up if I were you. Reality might just be the same.

my fantasy... drinks at JR's house. Nice Single Malt Scotch. Walk over to Ruth Chriss. Stumble back to JR's house, have some more Scotch. Sleep over, watch the Tournament of Roses parade, and JR makes us pancakes. It would have been fun.

funny you say that... I took the Mercedes to E Z Lube. (sounds like a porn.) They wanted $81.00 before taxes for an oil change with Mobile. (supposedly the best) I said, Please go to Hell. OK, I said no thank you, and took the car to my local guy.

Talk about taking advantage. Just because Mobile oil, they wanted 81.00. The car was on the lift... but they conveniently waited to tell me the price after they elevated it. I said, NO WAY. Homey don't play that.

    Those jerks.

Yes, and he reapired the broken hose which caused the slow leak. And I paid the competitive rate of ZERO. (extended warrarnt, X 2)

I was evaluating opportunity cost of driving to West LA. It was worth it. Plus, got a free coke.

Well you can't say no to free coke.

I have a question what gift should I receive for my 5 year anniversary at Sony?

I'm leaning toward the telescope, but I'm not sure if it is a good one or not. I don't need
another watch and the jewelry is really not my thing either.

I don't know about the quality of the telescope but it's always cool to have one. I think I would go for the knives, though I have a set of very nice knives already. SR, your job is the best ever. We get nothing for 5 years of service. At 10 years, they give you a cheap pin. Actually, you get a cheap pin every 5 years starting at 10 years. At 30 you get a cheap pin with a diamond chip in it. I think you get two chips at 35 and three at 40. Either that or you get a chip starting at 20. I don't know. It's no esta bien.

I think I'm going to give up my life as a civil engineer and become the next SR. Maybe I can find a new bookcase also.

I dreamt that JR was my neighbor and I could catch rides to meetings and other events with him. Reality sometimes isn't what it's cracked up to be.

At Godiva, my employment starts over each time, but at my other place here it's ongoing, and I just got a t-shirt for one year (and an anniversary card in the mail--kinda weird, I opened it and saw the word "anniversary" and was confused..."this is for me??"). Nothin' much, but it was nice. I worked at a photo studio for a year and a half before being unceremoniously let go, and Dan Magnuson sure as hell never noted an anniversary! He was ugh.

with all the traveling you do, get the two piece luggage set. It looks nice.
You don't eat home enough to use the knifes. Plus, the small suit case can fit in the
    overhead.

For my five year anniversary at Robert Half (NYSE: RHI) I got a small waterford bowl. Cheap guys. No name, no engraving, no date... So, when I had a party, I put water in it, and let Bubba drink out of it. My one supervisor was not happy.

    Watch looked interesting too

    What is gift no. 535?
I wish I got gifts for working. Heck, we don't even get free parking.
I would go for the portable fishing rod, but that's just me. The telescope, the binoculars or the golf bag seem like good choices.

I think 535 is a man's necklace. Kind of hard to see. Actually, the 2nd watch on page two looks very cool SR. I would get that or luggage.

Do you Golf? I do not recall hearing you speak about that.

JR, be happy you have a job. :D :D

Gift 535 is a $100 gift certificate to the Sony Store. The only problem with that is that I don't need anything from the store. Maybe a PSP however I would have to pay more to get it than just $100. Most of the gifts are about $100. I don't need the watches Kenneth Cole or Swiss Army. The knives are good, but I won't use them. I have luggage so another set would be too much.

I'm going to find out how much we sale the PSPs for at the store and with the gc I may do that. I don't know.
