LA, CA Questions, Complaints and Everything Else Part 15 - My Gosh that's a lot!

Well, to be fair, the way this usually works is the meeting IS on a day I work, so I figure it won't be either of those dates.

We could figure out a March date soon as well maybe? If its set before midMarch, I, at least, can schedule for it.

 

Make it closer to the IEFF so I can crash it!

 

Even though Pasadena is not that close to my place, I find it easier to get there than a lot of places in the West San Fernando Valley. So, that general area sounds OK to me, too.

 

indeed. If we had more notice, I could definitely make sure we are free that day.

 

I was going to suggest the 15th or 16th to capitalize on St. Patty's day but my padawan has finals the week beyond so maybe it's not so good for me. But it's a good time to go out any way. The weekend after that is Easter so that's not so good.

 

Could we have a poll to choose the date? We're still doing one this month, aren't we?

 

Yeah, I mean, I don't put in a schedule request for a month til the middle of the month before.

I'd like to make the next meeting/event -- 2/15 is bad because it's the holiday weekend, lots of people (like me) probably have plans. 23rd is during WonderCon, also going to that. I vote for a March weekend if possible.

SR, don't want to be putting pressure on you cuz I know you're busy and all, but would it be possible to get a date for March set by like a week and a half from now or so for scheduling purposes? Like, personally, I'm usually good for any weekend if I know with enough time to adjust my work schedule accordingly.

 

Not a bad suggestion. I hear you. So right now I'm pretty open. There are two local cons next month Con Dor in San Diego is the first weekend. Wizard World LA is the third weekend. Easter is the fourth weekend. And since March is a long month and the month started on a Saturday we have a fifth weekend so there are currently plenty of dates to choose from. I'm liking the 2nd or 5th weekends for March.

 

As of now, I can schedule myself free on any of the weekends.

 

Ok, as soon as this poll is over I'll start a fresh one for March to give us time.

 

For consideration for our March gathering:

I know this great Chinese restaurant on the West side in a strip mall on Venice just east of Robertson called Golden China. Entrees range from about $6.50 for Egg Foo Young (the best I've had in LA) to $22.00 for Peking Duck (for two, I think.) There's plenty of parking, too. I don't know if they serve alcohol, but I can find out.

We used to have meeting planning threads...I'm getting all confused every time I click on this thread to look for everyone's (usually entertaining) Q,C and EE, only to find meeting planning going on. Just sayin'!

Maybe that should be my complaint!

 

You know, I thought the same thing as JB. Not that it's all that important. But, a meeting planning thread was kind of a good way to keep it separated from the other stuff.
