Before - Legends Qui-Gon Jinn Challenge Thread - Note on first post

I'm glad y'all liked my drabble! I was a lurker on the now-locked thread and so since this is delurking week, I decided to show myself here.

Jane Jinn Ok that was simply fantastic! Loved asking Qui to purr...
And I am so happy to see something new by you ...after first reading your work on the archives I hunted around the internet for the rest of your stories (this was before I had actually joined the boards and somehow had only found the archives). I finally managed to find your personal website and read everything there, then finally joined the boards and put you on my watched user list.
I love all your work-- Jedi Go Home is fantastic-I've re-read it too many times to count (can you tell why I call myself a Lurker?) and I really liked Obi-Wan's Shotgun Wedding ...the situations that boy gets himself into...not to mention even more amusing if you recognize it as a masterful adaptation of a somewhat familiar story. Anyway, since I am delurking, may as well delurk and tell you how much I love your work!

Princess_A So I spent some time on Saturday reading through all your stories listed in your bio...and re-reading "Maverick Missions" three additional times for a good measure...Qui-Gon...dancing...

VaderLVR64 nose envy...hehehe. A great combination of serious introspection and lighthearted humor.

I'll be sticking around as well--no more lurking on this thread for me...

I've got to write a drabble, or at least, that?s what my Padawan Obi-Wan calls it.

Dang. Master Yoda said that he wanted a mission report of no less or more than a hundred words.

I don't understand the need for written mission reports. They already have verbal recording facilities in the Council Chamber!

I don?t think I?ll do it. After all, I?ve defied the council many a time already. One more won?t make a difference. Heh, I?m famous for it. Qui-Gon Jinn the ever rebellious.

Wait? doesn?t this line and the above add up to a hundred? Oh well.

"Obi-Wan."

Sleepy murmur. "Not now, Master. Tired."

"Padawan, listen..."

A furious cutting "No" and abruptly, General Kenobi awoke. Kicking off tangled sheets, still half-groggy with exhaustion, he sat up, scowling into the darkened room.

Silence. No one there.

Regret caught in his throat. Of course, there was no one there. There never was. His Master was dead, long ago. So long ago.

"I'm going mad," Obi-Wan whispered into the night. "Or I soon will be."

The dark breathed "Padawan" but he ignored it. That way lay insanity.

"Dreams pass in time." Laying back down, he begged. "Force, let them pass."

 

That last line made me want to ! That was powerful! Especially since you only had a hundred words to convey so much!

Healer_Leona Seeing me back brought tears? I hope they were tears of laughter and not of despair. Yes, I thought it was kind of a fun song, too. My memories of it come up every so often when my kids give me a hug and it seems they're trying to squeeze me to death ... in fact, I think Zap must be based on my younger son.

Test Run

The first mission with a Padawan never goes right.

My first mission ended up with the planet seceding from the Republic because Dooku was aiding the enemy.

Xanatos nearly got himself killed trying to protect a Prime Minister and the man he was protecting still got assassinated.

Who knew that Obi-Wan would be deathly allergic to the chief produce export of this world, but wouldn?t realize it until he went into shock?

I have all the compassion that I can muster, but this is not what I had in mind.

Sometimes, always thinking with your stomach has its distinct disadvantages.

 

Nothing More, Nothing Less



The life of a Jedi is not easy, nor without sacrifice. It is a life full of hardships and loneliness. An empty aching heart can make the Knight fall to his knees, begging for the healing mercy of the Force.

It is in those moments, when my soul feels like nothing more than a void that yawns within me that I give myself up to the warm currents of the Force and find renewal. Those healing waters bathe away my troubles, leaving only serenity behind.

Nothing less than the utter peace of the Force will do, nothing more is required.

 

Qui-Gina-Jinn Welcome. Sorry I'm so late but my internet was acting wacky the last two days and I've been struggling with it.

JaneJinn Jane, I'm so happy you delurked even for a moment. And then to give us a real treat. Loved the lurker story. I was putting myself in that lurker's place and just enjoying the rumble that was Qui-Gon Jinn. Loved it! Especially loved this part. Qui-Gon put his arms around me and pulled me close. I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head on his chest. I could hear his heart beating, and feel his beard tickling the top of my head. Happy sigh.

Glad to hear that everything is well and that you are writing a book. May it become a best seller the first day! Let us know when it's published!

Astonishment! Globs of cold, gooey pudding slowly trickled down Qui-Gon's cheek, seeping into his beard and the annoying plop-plop-plop sound told him his hair had suffered the same fate. Even now, the gummy ooze was slithering under his cloak, sticking flesh to cloth.

He was not amused.

But someone else was. Snickering behind him, quickly stifled, the boy was trying hard not to laugh.

Grinning wildly, Obi-Wan leaned over, pointing to the mucky brown mess. "It's chocolate, Master." A wider grin. "Looks good on you."

"Looks better on you, Padawan." A pudding-covered hand ruffled the boy's hair.

"Tag, you're it."
