ST R2-D2 IS IN FOR EPISODE VII!

I just hope he's not one of those pampered,spoiled actors- wants oil delivered to his dressing room in between takes, a good polishing from the female extras.

 

A couple hundred years I think... C-3PO's fake backstory had him over 100 years...

 

R2 in a sequel to Return of the Jedi.

Why would Episode VII be set 40 years later to reflect the big 3's current ages when:

A. The latest episode is being released less than 40 years after the ROTJ
B. The big 3 have never been the same ages as their fictional counterparts.

And why would R2 need to look used and beat up? There are people with classic cars close to a 100 years old that look in brand new condition. Mechanics don't visibly wear just because time passes, they look rundown from lack of upkeep and care. And R2 is a very beloved little driod.

 

The key is the 1st sentence. Reflect their CURRENT ages.

E7 will come out 32 years after E6.

The OT3 played ~5 years younger than their real ages.

32 + 5 = 37 years older. 40 is a rounded version.

 

Hmm, R2 looks too old. Maybe he should go to the gym....

And I'm pretty sure Carrie Fisher is not older than Leia.

 

Carrie might not be, but Mark and Harrison played younger than their actual age.

As for math, Luke is supposed to be what 23 in RotJ? In 2015 Mark will be 63/64. So 40 years post Jedi puts you at his current age. Same with Han and Harrison.

Erm, guys....that's not R2-D2. It's R2-D76. You can tell because the paint is Corellian Blue #4 instead of #3, and his holo-projector is clearly the revised version with the 12% bigger lense. I can also just make out the Rordis City stamp on his leg and it's the newer logo which was used when the factory was expanded - way after R2-D2 was built. Some of you guys really need to brush up on your Industrial Automation history
