HamptRds, VA R2 D2 Mailboxes fun idea

Ok everyone we need to set up a day next month or maybe later this month toooooooooooooooooo.................

Get dressed up and stand in line in front of a Star Wars mail box. We can take some fun photos.
Or even Make a funny Video.

Lets talk about this at our meeting on Saturday.

We need to get Lori to do Leia, someone call Phil/Lori up!

 

They are mostly going to be in DC from what I read.

The USPS R2-D2 mailboxes roll out today! www.starwars.com has posted a list of the cities where they will have R2-D2 mailboxes, and there are locations all over Virginia:

Alexandria
Arlington
Blacksburg
Chantilly
Lynchburg
Merrifield
Newport News
Norfolk
Richmond

 

I was told that R2-D2 is located on Granby Street across from TCC.
I'll go do a recon mission later today and check that out.


Do we have a time for Sunday afternoon for our photo shoot?

 

Is lunch included? If so I am in. I will take picture no uniform yet.

 

No lunch is not included.

We are moving the date of this photo shoot to April 1st.

April Fool's Day seems like an appropriate day for this . We'll be there - will give me time to finish up the Snowtrooper armor and pouches!

April 1st is good with me. Gives me time when I get back fro vacation to square my unifotrm away.

FYI - This is a FanForce event. You do not need a costume to participate and take pictures with everyone else.

Can't wait! We're doing our best to have the snowies done in time. Having problems with the snaps and the backpack, which Jim might be able to help us with... Noel's hand is too big to get into the hole, and mine's too weak to pull the snap pliers LOL! Can't win .

When will the event take place this Sunday? I want to be sure to carve out time now....

A coworker and I went to one of the R2-D2 mailboxes and I took a picture of him dressed as Darth Vader and found out that it was posted on CNN.com.
