To the Darth Astromech question, I wonder if it's significant that C3PO was built by soon-to-be Sith Apprentice and heir to the Impirial Throne. Are his actions (such as "accidentally" turning off his communicator when Luke, etc., are in the garbage masher) as innocent as they seem? or could they be some sort of sub-program to work in favor of his "maker"?

Don't forget answering machine! He took that message from OB1 in AOTC and went to inform Anakin about it.
