Has anyone found where the R2D2 mail box is in Milwaukee?
While Channel 4 news covered the mail box, they gave no details and seemed clueless about why it exists. But Channel 12 news coverage was much better and they gave the address. It is at 14th and Wisconsin.
I sense a photo op.
Also at 106th and Bluemound.
Maybe that is the one that Channel 4 showed. Channel 12 showed the one one the Marquette campus.
We went there today and took photos. I even braved the cold and quickly put on my ANH Leia over my pants and shirt to have my photo taken. A campus security truck had just pulled up when we got there, so I can only wonder what he was thinking. Plus a couple pulled up to mail letter (after I had gotten out of my dress) and the young woman seemed to be confused by the change in the mail box.
Here you go.. find the droids here >> http://www.frappr.com/r2d2
I saw one of these.
Are they still around, because I totally did not get to see one.
There's one by the zoo and another down on 27th and Oklahoma.
We came, we saw, we photo-opped.
I gotta get out of the funeral home more.
That just sounds creepy...
There is also one on Mayfair Road across from the mall. By the TCF bank I believe. I think they are out until the stamp promotion ends.
I still haven't bought the stamps. Any idea how long that's running?
Just out of the blue, my Mother sent me the sheet with each stamp on it. It arrived in surprisingly pristine condition too.
They still have them at the Wauwatosa Post office on Highway 100.
Just saw the one on S. 27th street is still up today.
I have not seen these mailboxes yet. However, I did have the option to buy SW stamps for work when they sent me to the post office to buy some. Bridal shop and Star Wars didn't go together so I opted for the Liberty Bell.
Well, I am a mortician after all.
(Edit: That smilie is creepy.)
I saw one on the Marquette campus last night.
I hope the MU campus one stays up. Everytime I drive by, it makes me smile.
Got some stamps too. One sheet for using, one for keeping. And then being forced to by supplemental stamps when I break down and use them in a few years and discover that they don't cover the cost of my snail mail anymore.
I bought 3 sheets of stamps: one to use, one to think about keeping or use and one to frame as it has been "1st day" cancel stamped (that one was bought at CIV).
