    I know. I know. "Godzilla's our mascot!" And hey, who am I to take that away from you? I'm just thinking that since were are... you know, a Star Wars group, it might be a good idea to at least have one that is Star Wars related.

    So, on that note, I nominate R5-D4 because... let's face it, what other Star Wars character was a bigger quitter than that little droid?

    See, it works so well for our group. Check it out:

    Actually, now that I think about it, the Drink Tray R2-D2 could work as well.

    Is that the one that doubles as a beverage cooler? Very handy...

    There's a funny story about a tricycle, me and a drinks tray that certain GSFF members will hopefully remember.

    Anyways, Godzilla is our mascot !

    Ah yes malkie... the real reason you went back to the UK: to avoid having to become R2! One day, malkie, one day...

    R5 and drink tray R2 are both really good options. Being the true slacker that I am, I'll figure out which one I like better later.

    R2 Beverage cooler, from the pepsi episode 1 stuff. The cooler found in stores. Yes, I have one, and i think it should be our mascot.

    When malkie comes back for a visit, we'll have to have a hat ready for him with a built in drink tray.

    And did the droid really quit? My theory is that R2 blew him up using the power of the Force.

    That sounds more likely - we all are aware of R2's force powers !

    Isn't R2 supposed to be a Sith? He shoots Force lightning (just ask the Ewoks), makes other droids implode, he flies, and when cornered/blasted he unleashes a deafening Sith battle cry...

    "There's a funny story about a tricycle, me and a drinks tray that certain GSFF members will hopefully remember."

    A large rubbermaid trash can was also mentioned in that story if I recall.. :D

    Actually, R2 didn't cause R5-D4's malfunction... According to the 'Tales' comics, R5 was actually a Jedi-droid who, upon having a Force-vision of the future (and R2's very crucial role in it) used the Force to crush his own insides, so that R2 could be purchased and fulfill his destiny... And his 'real' name is Skippy... ...According to 'Tales'.... Yeah... I'm not kidding... :D [face_laugh]

    R2 isn't Sith, he isn't Jedi - he is THE Force. So all he does is to bring balance. The clues are all there. I think he made R5 squish himself - a droid mind whammy if you will.....

    I never realized how well R2 fits with our group until now... :)

    Okay, I've got this all figured out. I've discovered there's an R2 for every (well our's anyway) occasion.

    First off, we have...
    [image=http://wildorchid.8m.com/SWLOOSE/c12_a2.jpg]
    Regular R2, for general meetings and sundry.

    Then we have
    [image=http://wildorchid.8m.com/SWLOOSE/c12_a5.jpg]
    Convention R2. Unless of course we want to roll down the big R2 cooler to the bar (not that we ever go there, of course).

    [image=http://www.brianstoys.com/acatalog/POTF2_12inDollLoose_R2-C3PO.jpg]
    This is Beach Party R2 (Beach Party C-3PO not included)
    Perfect for whenever we have that meeting in Key West. :)

    And finally, how could we call ourselves the GS without paying some respect to St. Patrick's Day, and who better to celebrate St. Patty's Day than...
    [image=http://wildorchid.8m.com/SWLOOSE/c12_a7.jpg]
    That's right... IRISH R2-D2!

    I suppose an argument could be made for a vintage R2 and calling him Retro R2, but I'll leave that for another time.

    Who wouldn't want a drink serving R2-D2? We could turn him into our resident frat boy! *CHUG CHUG CHUG*

    OMG we'll have a whole family. XD

    Mace is glad he'll have new friends -- he's kind of sick of his so-called friends who make his outfits look all funny and do mean things to him at Fanforce meetings. MUAHA.

    You know, one of the nice things about doing the logo and t-shirt designs is coming up with different layout ideas. Some work, some don't, but then there are some that we just can't do for whatever reason, but they're too good to pass up.

    Case in point, the use of R2 on our shirts. It was a great idea, it really was, but it appeared that the powers-that-be weren't going t let us do that little design. More to the point, CafePress probably wouldn't do it.

    But then I thought "hey, I have a printer!" And thus was born the idea that will forever lock R2-D2 down as our mascot...
