httf is a good record but it's too long. it would have been a great record if it had been just the ten best songs.
ok, so just you! i will be sending you a PM with the wonderful details soon! i love driving through the countryside listening to optimistic and pyramid song as loud as possible (there is the possibility that my car speakers will bug-out). we have the best countryside here. well, not the "best," but it's very nice. unless there's snow everywhere, then i don't bother with the drive 'cause it's so blinding with all the white glare everywhere (set the controls for the heart of the sun - pink floyd) - and with that... sunset.
/\ So what are peoples thoughts on the new album now a few weeks later? I still listen to it a lot. Bloom, Lotus Flower and Separator are my favorite tracks, but everything is good too. Lotus Flower really snuck up on me and bonked me on the head as if to say, "yeah you didn't think too much of me at first but now you love me yeah?" And I'm like yes. I have to say though that Separator is probably in my top 5 Radiohead tracks of all-time list, and that's a tough bloody list to make considering the sheer amount of great RH songs. I think Separator is that good/addictive/euphoric/awesome. It has a Red Hot Chill Peppers vibe too, but I heard that Flea played a bit on this album(since he was part of Thom's group Atoms for Peace). Not sure if Flea played on Separator but it's a super cool Red Hot Radiohead track.
Argh, I still haven't listened to the album yet. I really need to set aside some time and listen to it from start to finish.
I just listened to the album on YouTube as background music. I couldn't tell that it was on. Is that a good sign?
Don't worry about it. I can tell this one'll take several listens. I've found that every album they've done since Kid A in 2000 has taken me several plays before it sank in, and I've loved each one of those albums. In Rainbows was apparently meant to be a companion album to OK Computer (10 years between albums), and I'm getting a vibe that KOL was possibly meant to be a companion to the Kid A & Amnesiac albums too (10 years between Amnesiac's release & KOL's release).
Wish I could say I thought of it by myself, but I got it from Cracked's site. Radiohead's "10" album is number 8 on the list.
Supercollider is now my favorite Radiohead song. As a matter of fact it's now my favorite song by any band that has thus far existed.
It's a personal thing, certain events and such that collided together for me to believe it's the theme track for me right now.
